I have been into comedy series like friends, himym, bbt, 70 shows, 2.5 men etc .. one of the reason i was able to watch these series was because each episode is 20 min long. For me its a big commitment (waste of time) to sit and watch something .. I rather play games .. but i want to watch something .. so recommend me some series .. something historical ..
One of my friend has recommend me band of brothers. it looked amazing. I am thinking to start it .. The other friend has recommend me “Game of thrones” (trailer didn’t impress me .. ) .. so what do you guys suggest?
P.S:
No Pakistani/indian shows .. specifically no “humsafar” drama!
Depends what sort of stuff/themes you like.
Game of Thrones is awesome, so is American Horror Story. Umm, Grimm is pretty good too.
If you want short episodes...something like Breaking Bad? Modern Family is good too

I am lovign Modern Family. but i want to change my taste from comedy to something serious. So if i ask you to share your fav, what it would be .. ?
big fan of BBT already … sheldon cooper and his geeky jokes. i can so relate myself to it.
so i started Game of thrones after couple of recommendations. For me a any episode which is 20 min + is boring. I somehow managed to watch first 3 episode of GoT. It was going slow and then it picked up its pace. Man, I finished the first season in 2 days and now i am anxiously waiting for season 2 ..
One thing that i hated about the GoT that the series is awesome without any “fictional” creature i.e. Dragons. Didn’t like it when daenreys got dragons on her shoulder .. ..
Keeping with the theme of "a bunch of friends hanging out", Entourage is awesome. The first season is a little slow but it gets amazing. Watch the last two episodes of season 2 (that's what I watched and got hooked). It's half an hour.
Game of Thrones is a medieval political drama, with touches of fantasy, although the fantasy becomes a bit more prominent in the later books (each season is supposed to be one book). The show is very close to the book, which is critically acclaimed, so it's very well done. There is an ensemble cast, and you'll be surprised at the top notch acting, even from the child actors (who usually suck). Not to mention the ridiculous twists. It's realistic in that no character is safe, and they can all die. It's an hour long though.
The Sopranos is very good, but it's an hour long show. It's one of the few series that I have rewatched multiple times, and it gets better every time. There is so much symbolism packed into that show that you notice new things every time. Definitely one of the better series of all time.
Oops just saw your post about GoT. Yes it becomes more fantasy later on, but I've read the first four books, and the dragons are minor. It really does focus on the political struggles of the Houses. How bout that beheading? lol
