Foods are a part of our culture, or so I think.
Anyways… there is something called Tash kebab. I think they are Turkish in origin but I have had them in Pakistan several times. Anyone know a recipe?

Also…can someone give me a recipe for good Chappli kebabs.

Buy the Shaan Masaala for Chappli kabobs. Its pretty good, I've tried it.

TIP : Dont put all the masaala because it will make it toooooooo theeka. Put only 1/2 to 3/4 of the packet. If you do put all of it then don't forget to pop a tagamet HB(antacid) pill before consuming it.

Ubla hua Omelet

This is a simple recipe for the times you want to totally surprise people..it came about as an old college prank but has since become a surprise entry and a source of chuckles at dinner parties among my friends. Its not anything exotic or a delicacy...but everyone who has had one has asked how it was done.

Chef Jean-Pierre Fraudia

ingredients:

1) Eggs.
2) Foil.
3) Small funnel.
4) Stuff you want in the omelet ( cheese, onions, mushrooms, bell peppers, tomatoes etc.)

process;

1) Break a small hole in the eggs and drain the yolk and the white out.
2) Mix with whatever ingredients you want in the omelet.
3) Use the funnel to fill the mix back into the shells.
4) Cover completely with foil and mark the foil where the small hole in the egg shell is, make sure that the side with the hole is always facing up.
5) Either boil on low heat making sure that the side with the hole stay facing up at all times or steam the eggs using a strainer for 10 minutes.
let eggs cool down, remove the foil. Remove the shell and you have an omelet shaped like a boiled egg. Serve it sliced in halve with salad or kebabs etc

Pehli baat to yeh ke mujhe masaloon ke naam nahin aate, na punjabi, mein na urdu aur na hi danish mein, to phir english mein kahan se aaein ge, is liye khud hi tuke laga lijiye ga ke main kiya keh rahi hoon .

Ghosht ½ kg (baghair hadi ke)
Ginger a hand full
Garlic a hand full
Onion 1-2
peper 1
Tomato 1-2
crush pepper ??
nimak ??
garam masala ½ chamach
Jaifal, javitri thorri si

'lakrri' 1/4 chamach (lakrri ki tarah hoti hai, jab pissi na ho to)

lakrri jis pe gali mirch lagi hoti hai thorri si

Aur bhi jo jo masalah aap ke paas hai thorra thorra sab daal dein (No mazaq)

  1. Sab se pehle ghosht ko achi tarah se doh lein

  2. Us ko chota chota kaat lein (~ 2 x 2)

  3. Ginger aur garlic ko barik piis lein

  4. Sab masaloom ko barik piis lein aur ginger garlic, mein mile dein.

  5. ab ghosht ko is mixture mein daal ke achi tarah se mix kijiye.

  6. Ab ise kisi kaprre waghairah se dhanp dein aur ½-2 ghante tak rehne dein.

  7. ab Union peper aur tomato ko kaat lein, ziyadah barik nahin, warna ghir jaein ge.

  8. Ab aap kisi bhi qitaar mein ghosht aur union waghariah ko tikkoon per lagaein

  9. in pe thorra thorra oil dalein aur own mein rakh dein medium heat per (Own pehle se garam karein)
    Oops: Own mein rakhne se pehle kisi bartan mein zarror rakh lijiye ga, is tarah ghosht apne hi pani mein rahe ga, to behtar bane ga.

  10. Thorri thorri deir (~ 5 min.) ke wagfe se upper oil dalein

  11. Jab ghosht gal jae, nikal lein (~ 20 min)

  12. Zabardast kism ki podine ki chatni ke saath kahiye, aur mujhe duaaein dijiye.

Yeh Sab mein aazmaa chuki hoon, fool proof recipe hai jee. Likh likh ke meri kamar mein dard ho gaya, is liya ab yeh banana aap pe farz hai, OK!

Waisay, I am a great cook :)but I can’t post the proper recipes here because while cooking I dont know what masalas I put in and in what quantity :slight_smile:

Khair I will definately try these chapli kebabs and tikkas someday, and yes the boiled omlete. Sounds interesting :slight_smile:

Oh yeah I think i should give you my recipe of Tandoori chicken:
I whole chiken
yougurt about 3/4 cup
Ginger garlic paste about 2-3 tbsp.
Salt, red chilli powder, termeric powder, garam masala powder, dhaniya powder.
don’t ask about the quantity, I don’t know myself. Bus hasb-e-zaiqa :slight_smile:
Mix all these things and merinate the chicken for 4 hours atleast.

You can grill it.. and if you want you can cut the chicken in 4 pieces and barbque… Quite delicious. :slight_smile:

Jub hum log Skardu se gilgit ja rahay thay (it was not honey moon… I went with my family) :)it was 6 hours drive, and there was not a single stop where we could sit and have lunch. Bhook ke maaray jaan nikal rahi thi. Raastay main aik adad toota phoota hotel nazar aaya, we told the driver to stop there. the owner of that hotel was sleeping and there was no one there. Hoo ka aalam tha. We woke him up and told him to prepare some karahi for us… Itna toota hooa kitchen tha, pata nahien kis tarha bana kar laya woh. wahan itni makhian theen keh aap imagine nahien kar saktien. Jub hum khana khanay lagay to ‘pat pat’ kar ke saari khanay main girnay lag gien… Uffff!! Kuch na poochain kis haal khana khaya hum ne. It was looking more like makhi karahi.
