Recipes Using Boneless Beef Stew

Salaams all,

can you please share step by step recipe using boneless beef stew meat? I’ve never really cooked it so I need help!!

i’m not interested in haleem, pulao, biryani…but more of bhoona gosht, korma and such recipes.

I have a pressure cooker as well (even though i’ve hardly ever used it!) so please let me know of any simple, but tasty recipes using a pressure cooker or regular pot as well as ingredients I will need.

hoping to cook this for dinner tonight.

thanks in advance!!

Re: Recipes Using Boneless Beef Stew

Here is what i make

Boneless Beef Karahi

Beef: 1/2 kg
Salt: to taste 1tsp usually
Coriander powder: 4tsp
Gingler Garlic paste 1/2 tsp
Whole red chillies: 4-5
Green chillies 1-2
Tomatoes: 4 medium or 3 big
Yogurt: 3-4tbsp
Cream 2tbsp
Corainder leaves: as required for garnishing
Ginger sliced for garnishing
Grama masla 1/2 tsp

Add salt, ginger garlic paste, coriander and tomatoes (sliced) to the beef in pressure cooker. Put enough water (dont put oil). Give it 15-20 minutes in pressure cooker depending how your beef tenderizes usually. WHen tender now bhoonify it by adding yogurt and red chilies and garam masla first. After 2-3- minutes add sliced green chillies and also put oil now and keep on bhooning for other 2-3 mins. Add cream when u feel there is no smell and gravy is in good form. After adding cream just simmer on low heat for a minute and add coriander and ginger sliced (Julian long) and cover for 3-5 minutes. Keep on low flame for a minute only and then close flame. By this the smell of ginger would penetrate. Enjoy with naan or home made rotis

Re: Recipes Using Boneless Beef Stew

Stew is not the karahi, I think. Its very easy indeed!

Beef 1 kg
Onion 1 kg (sliced)
Yougurt 200 grams
Corriander whole 2 tablespoon
Sabut lal mirch 10 (pierce them)
Gram masla sabut (long, kali mirch, bari illachi)
Ginger 20 grams - sliced
Garlic about 10-15 cloves

Oil

Cook on low heat all the stuff till meat is tender and onion is fully cooked.

Here is my mom’s stew recipe:

¼ tsp haldi
Salt
Red chili pdr
1-2 TBS dhaniya powder

  1. Fry onions in hot oil until soft & translucent, do NOT brown
  2. Add minced ginger/garlic, only small amount
  3. Add zeera, kali elaichi, green ilaichi, cinnamon stick, black pepper, 2 cloves
  4. Add meat, stir for few mins
  5. Add salt & red chili powder & ¼ tsp haldi & 1-2 TBS dhaniya pdr
  6. Then add water until meat is covered, bring to boil & simmer until tender, at least 1 hr
  7. Cook on high until dry
  8. Add tomatoes, fresh ginger & garlic, & green chilis
  9. Cook on high & bhuno (cook very high if meat is very tender, on medium if meat needs to cook more)
  10. Simmer 5 mins
  11. Add fresh cilantro

Re: Recipes Using Boneless Beef Stew

I very much know what stew is but she wrote she is interested in bhunna huwa gosht etc recipies too so I wrote that one as its very easy to make. Moreover even the stew is not as easy as karahi as per my recipe as stew needs to have cubed onions and also tomatoes. Your recipe does not match my recipe and even I have never heard of such a stew, Stew is not our traditional kind of dish it even has veggies in it and it has transparent gravy too. And stew is difficult to make than karahi for sure

Re: Recipes Using Boneless Beef Stew

Sorry! But stew was Indianised the way I told and is a traditional recipe in Awadhi cuisines since Britishers came in the 18th century. Western Stew is quite different and may be not easy as you said.
