I have taken out chicken and i want to make a salan out of it. Something different, which can also be frozen easily.
Anything with masala would work.
I dont want to try my usual recipes.
Ideas?
Re: Recipes Needed!
What are your usual recipes…??
There used to be a recipe named after one of the guppies here a few years ago..‘‘Mahru’s Chicken’’.I make that very frequently. My 3 yo loves it…!..I might be forgetting the actual recipe and I am sure I must have made some variations too, but it was something like this:
1 chicken cut up into pieces
1 cup plain yogurt
1 tsp tomato paste (the one which comes in cans and is very thick in consistency)
1 tsp vinegar
1 tsp garlic paste
salt acc to taste
1/2 tsp red chilli powder
1/2 tsp zeera seeds
1 tsp coriander powder
a few black peppercorns
a stick of cinnamon
1 black cardamom
4-5 green cardamoms
3-4 cloves
a pinch of garam masala powder (optional)
wash and drain the chicken.Mix everything above and marinate the chicken in it.
In the meanwhile golden fry 2 medium, thinly sliced onions and when done remove from the oil and put into a blender or food processor.Blend them along with 2 medium fresh tomatoes into a smooth paste.Keep aside.
In the same oil add the chicken and the entire marinade.Bhoonify it well (say 15 mins).Add the onion mixture and bhoonify again.Add some water and cover the pot and let it simmer till chicken is done.
serve.

^karahi and qorma!
I know ingredients are usually almost the same in all chicken masala dishes, i just want to try something with a different recipe. I am tired of the taste of my dishes, if you get what i mean. Days when you want someone else to cook for you because you want a different taste, its one of those days.
this one looks good though!
Re: Recipes Needed!
Oh I know..I have those kind of days almost every day…![]()
I found this recipe to be diffenet from my usual recipes because it used a lot of whole spices and garam masala which I almost never use in everyday cooking.
Re: Recipes Needed!
I made this the other day, very easy and turned out yummy.
1- Fry onions
2- add chicken and fry for a little while
3- add masalas - I used a bit of chicken tikka and roast masalas + garic powder
4- cover and let it cook for a while
5- add pasta sauce (the kind i have includes tomato, garlic and onion
6- bhoon that for a while
7- when oil seperates add some water (optional)
8- let that simmer for a bit and that’s it
I served it with chickpeas rice as my daughter had requested the rice. They all loved it.
