Im a pretty good cook when im at home, i dont shy away from it at all and cook dinner for the family most nights.
HOWEVER
When im at uni, away from a big kitchen and mum and all the stuff i need available i become soooooo lazyyyy and dont know what to cook and end up eating out for lunch and dinner and waste loads of money like 10-20 pounds a day!!
So does anyone have any easyish not to fattening recipe ideas which i can make at uni and then it lasts a few days?
And anyone have any lunch time ideas things i can make day before and arent too smelly…like cant take salan and chawal in a box as it would stink out the whole uni/hospital!
Hmm pasta is always good and easy, its a staple student food. You can experiment with pasta - theres so many ways to make it - pasta bake, tuna pasta bake, normal pasta on the hob and so on.
I always like buying the stuffed pasta - i think its called torteloni - morrisons often have offers on. Its delicious by itself or in sauce.. all you have to do is put it in boiling water for 1 minute and its ready. I like to use it to make this recipe:
i used to make a bunch of chicken karahi and freeze away portions, same with plain but good ol daal, mixed vegis, seekh kababs ...
these foods don't take a ton of ingredients. freeze n reheat well ...
in terms of stinking up the hospital with desi food ... WHAT??? ... who cares??? its your food .... don't you have to put up with chinese, Japanese, Mexican, Italian and English scents???
anyhoo ... I never had time during residency/med school to actually have a sit down meal ... so lived off of various health bars, crackers or tuna sandwiches (out the pt fridge :) )
