okay I am posting recipes for Paneer dishes here - one of them Mutter Paneer
Mutter Paneer (to serve 2)
Ingredients:
100 gms green peas (mutter)
4 tomatoes chopped
200 gms paneer, small cubes
Green chilies, chopped
A small piece of ginger, finely chopped
1 1/2 tsp chili powder
2 onions, finely chopped
1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
A pinch of turmeric
1 tsp coriander powder
1/2 tsp garam masala
1 cup curd (yogurt)
Salt to taste
Oil for frying
Fry the paneer cubes in oil until they are golden brown. Drain and keep aside. ( you can use paper to suck the oil off)
Heat oil in another pan and saute the chopped onions. Then add ginger-garlic paste, coriander powder, chili powder, green peas and fry for few more minutes.
Now add chopped tomatoes and cook until the oil separates. To this, add ground yogurt mix and cook to form a thick gravy.
Then add fried paneer cubes, garam masala, salt and cook for 2 more minutes.
A very simple preparation - if you want to make it rich then you can add cream of milk , dry fruits etc
Recipe for Palak Paneer
Spinach (palak)
Green chilies
Onions
Tomato ( not mandatory)
Ginger
Garlic
Dhaniya (coriander) powder
Red chili powder
Salt
Sugar
Cream
Vegetable oil
Method:
Chop the palak and boil until it gets completely soft. Add little bit of water as spinach discharges lot of water while boiling.
After boiling put the entire palak with the boiled water (as the boiled water contains the nutrients) into a blender. Then blend until it becomes a fine paste.
Then make a paste of onions, tomato, green chili, ginger (small piece) and garlic (4 to 5 cloves).
Then take oil in a kadai and add the above onion paste and fry it under medium flame for 7 to 10 minutes. Then add the palak paste to the kadai and fry it until the smell of palak goes off.
Then add dhaniya powder, red chili powder (as per ones own taste), 1/2 spoon sugar and salt. Then mix the entire thing and boil for another 5 minutes.
Now before serving, take paneer cubes and fry in little bit of oil so that it turns little bit golden brown. Then add these paneer cubes to the palak gravy and boil it for 2 to 3 minutes.
Before serving put cream on the palak and serve with parathas, naans, chapathi.
after preparation you dish should look some thing like this

bitter, its nice to see a paneer related thread :-)
I already know how to make common paneer dishes..so if you come across something different..i would love to try that one.. specially shahi paneer (the sweet one that has white curry..not those tandoori style yellow ones that they serve in North American restaurants and call that shahi paneer).
i am sharing a recipe here for Muzna Baji...coz i didn't wanted to open another thread. Hope you didn't mind :-)
*Muzna Baji *..this recipe is from the book called the best of chicken and paneer by nita mehta. I am cooking with different recipes one by one as per index..and haven't tried this recipe yet..but so far all the ones that i tried were delicious..so feel free to try this recipe.
