Recipes for 21st century.

So everybody talks about desi foods being loaded with calories and we have developed that taste where we cannot live without mirch , masala .
I am in a mode where I am constantly working on reducing and keeping my weight at a certain thresh hold.

So I have come up with some new ways of eating mirch , masala intensive daals, vegetables , meat , and even naan and paratha which are lite.

So first recipe.

  1. one packet Shaan qorma masala ,
  2. Frech’s fried onions four table spoons
  3. fat free yogurt one cup
  4. Olive oil , two table spoons

I fried the masala in olive oil for 45 seconds then mixed those fried onions , and fat free yogurt in it and let it simmer for a few minutes and then added some water to make it thick to my desired consistency . I did not want it runny or watery. I one small handmade chapati with it . It satisfied my craving for masala. Then I used the same masala to masalafy some steamed veggies and some daal.

If you have improvised like that you can share it here.

I will be sharing some other recipes later when I try them.

My begum does not like to experiment , once I experiment and if it turns out good then begum takes over the recipe going forward.

Re: Recipes for 21st century.

This was killer in high school. For health, we had to keep track of calories eaten for two weeks or so.....so very hard to do with desi food.
