Recipe : Jalebi

Shinoo , for you :@: this is Manjula’s recipe , I have tried it two times before .. and each time there was an improvement in my jalebis , so i am gonna give it a third try before I declare this the best recipe :cb:

1/2 KG Sugar
2 cups water
1/2 tsp yellow food color
125 grams gramflour ( baisan)
2 tablspoon self raising flour
1/4th tsp baking soda
oil for frying

Prepare the syrup by boiling water , sugar and yellow food color. Let it remain on simmer while you prepare the jalebis.

In a bowl, mix flour, gramflour, baking soda, some yellow food colour and water and make a thick paste ..

using the icing syringe or just a polythene bag , start dropping the batter in round shape into the hot oil . If you feel the batter is too thick, thin it a bit using a teaspoon of water . Fry each jalebi for a good 3 minutes until golden brown… and then immediately dip into the sugar syrup. Leave it dipped for 2 minutes … then remove and drain.
