so i was looking at my latest blog entry and happened to catch the Recent Visitors List. There was a name of a guppy that I have never given access to my blog on this list.
How is this possible?

Azkar and Tofi are working on this issue. There is an indication of some fix that needs to be required. I will let you know.
Till then, make sure you dont badmouth that particular guppy in your blog as she/he might be able to read it ..

i have had a mod person read my blog and i saw his name on my recently visitors list. i complained and nothing much was done about it. so i emailed the guy and he said he would put me on his ignore list. yeah right.

Hinna.. there is no such thing as private blogs.. all CMs have access to it and who knows about mods.. even though TLK will say that mods don't have access to private blogs!!
But I have had two CMs read my blog.. one of them notified me right away and apologized but the other one never brought it up, when inquired, they were "looking" for something!!
anyway, now even though my blog is private, I will still not write something that I dont want the CMs/Mods to read!! for that we have phone numbers for our friends ;-)

Mods cannot read private bogs. CMs and admins can, and usually we really try not to abuse our privileges. If accidentally that has happened, I know I have always sent a PM apologizing. Now, if you have someone on your contact list, regardless of if they are a "friend" or not, they can see your blog. So you need to delete that contact altogether from your list in order to prevent them from looking at your blog.
If you ever have a problem, please PM that person and CC the Director so it can be taken care of right away.

Mods do not have the rights to read private blogs unless they're in the contact/friend list!
Also that name can come up if someone clicks on the link to your blog in a post and they get the "you do not have access to this page"

I just believe that once you put something on internet it's not private.. it doesnt matter who has access or not, if we dont want people to know about it, then we shuldnt write it in our blogs.. simple as that!!!
that doesnt mean I add random people in my blog list.. I still like to control my friends list as much as possible and do not want to add friends if I dunno them well enough!! and if some people still click on it by mistake or on purpose, so what.. we aint talking rubbish there!!! :-D

Oh well, no no, that is not the only issue. There is a new glitch where members might be able see and post in a private blog if they were part of the blog once and you even removed them.

What you’ve heard here is right. Private blogs are accessible to people who are in your contact list, friends, CM’s and Admins.
What you can do to not let people read your blog:
a. (as Gemini TG said) don’t put it up there 
b. Remove everyone from your friends list AND your contact list

I also hate it when someone quietly removes you from their friend's list. In this case while you can't access their blog they can access yours, since they are still on your contact list. I think it should work like FB, i.e., if someone removes you from their friend's list, they should automatically be removed from yours also.
Until this happens, it's only fair that the person removing you from their friend's list should notify you so you can remove them from yours. I wouldn't really mind if someone does that, I like to respect anyone's privacy but only if they respect mine too.
