people don’t do so always. but they should.
do you make note of that, as a married person and return that regard openly, in kind?

My husband is not one to compliment me all the time, but when he does, it leaves the greatest and a lasting impact. Just the other day, he did the most unexpected thing. I still have not gotten over it. It means more to me than the usual oh you look good or good food kinda compliment. What he said took deep thought and intention.
So yes, I make note of it.
As far as I know he makes note of my compliments to him also.
