Hi Everyone,
Looks like we’ll be able to get some momentum on our long lost book club.
I recommend we start in the last week of Aug or early Sept. Previously, we read one book a month at the end of the 4 week period there was a lively discussion.
All are welcome to join, so far I know the following are in
@queserasera
@Muzna @WendyDarling
And I’m nominated @khattichic because I can
And paging Hina!
So folks, lets suggest books and we’ll take a vote.
Hopefully we can start in reading a week or so.
My Pick will be To Kill a Mockingbird – I can’t remember what I read in school and would love to revisit it.
Re: Rebirth of the GS book Club
^ Oifu just got that and the recently released sequel. We say the movie on TV several years ago.
Re: Rebirth of the GS book Club
haan tho recommend something else then.
We'll put it to a vote.
Its a democracy mate, not a tyranny. :)

Sorry I don't know the rules. Wasn't trying to overturn Muniya reccomendation. Saw mocking bird reference and just shared the trivia.
I SECOND your nomination for this book!!
Re: Rebirth of the GS book Club
YES!!! To Kill A Mockingbird!!!
Although I will say that “Go Set A Watchman” was a gross disappointment…that manuscript should have stayed lost forever and never been allowed to see the light of day.

Re: Rebirth of the GS book Club
Thanks for the review…saves me from reading it.
I’m okay with To Kill A Mockingbird. Will be a blast from past school days.

I'm ok with To Kill a Mocking Bird, too.
Haven't finished Go Set a Watchman, yet. Its been getting flak from everyone/ everywhere, but i'm still gonna read it anyways.

Re: Rebirth of the GS book Club
Yay to To Kill a Mockingbird ... only if we read "Go set a watchman" later on :) I'm about to order it!!!
Ok nvm ... just read khatti's comment. So sad it's a disappointment
Re: Rebirth of the GS book Club
I was gonna suggest The Goldfinch. I am reading it right now its SO good. Maybe too long for a book club.

Yes, it's a democracy, mate.

Shall we put that on the next to read list?
How long is it?
Re: Rebirth of the GS book Club
^ it's 700+ pages long.
Re: Rebirth of the GS book Club
OMG I just read the summary for Goldfinch - looks amazing.
Here's my problem tho - its on lists that include books like the signature of all things - and I hated that book. It was literally painful for me to read.
And 700 pages --- pshhh @Muzna will kill that in one night. hheheh
Re: Rebirth of the GS book Club
And lets add "All the light we cannot see" by Anthony Doer too! It's supposed to be amazing
Re: Rebirth of the GS book Club
It’s almost 800 pages.
