Don't know what I do like. But I do know, now, what I don't like. I don't like IT. Nope. Not my cup of tea.
So are you currently working in IT? What is it that you don't like about it? If you plan to switch the current job/industry, what do you think you'll need to do? (Hint: some internship, a new degree, a certification)
Have a degree in electrical engineering, but am working in IT. I thought I'd like it but I don't, I'm hanging on to it though. Waiting to find a job in manufacturing. Posting resumes and going for interviews.
It is not, for some an apprenticeship in a field is the right thing to do, for others it may be very targeted functional training in a particular field. Vocational/technical training is always an option. The goal is to have the skills and credentials to function in a field of interest in a target role.
With the stupid job market, its more important that you have actual skills and experience rather than fancy pieces of paper which no one gives a damn about when hiring.
I think that only rings true maybe for IT....where it's possible to get a high paying job without even a bachelor's degree.... but otherwise, like X2 stated...most fields require a Bachelor at minimum.
