Reasonable Price for Bridal Henna?

What’s a reasonable price for bridal henna in the U.S.? Something similar to the picture below…intricate and upto the elbows…HANDS ONLY.

Thanks!

Re: Reasonable Price for Bridal Henna?

up to the elbows, hands only? whaa?

This may not really help since my wedding was in canada :p but my mehndi was up to the elbows, covered my entire arm and hands...and I think just halfway up to the calf, and it cost $350 back in 2007....I would say that much mehndi that's in the picture, wouldn't be less than $500...that;s my guess

Re: Reasonable Price for Bridal Henna?

Hahaha....I guess I should've worded it better. :) By "hands only", I meant I'm not looking for all that henna on my feet/legs.

So upto the elbows....hands/arms....intricate design similar to the one in the pic....you think it MIGHT be close to $500?

Thanks!

Re: Reasonable Price for Bridal Henna?

there is no way you should pay $500 for just arms/hands. you can totally bargain with the henna artists and you should. it's like walking into a car dealership and buying the MSRP. first ask them how much for something like the picture when they say $500. then tell them you only want arms/hands which is half the work so you'll pay half...you get the gist.

Re: Reasonable Price for Bridal Henna?

^ agree, my assessment of $500 included the mehndi on the legs as well...but if you want an intricate design on the hands/arms, it should definitely be much less...

Re: Reasonable Price for Bridal Henna?

Get married in Chicago...I will have both hands/arms done for $150 :)

Re: Reasonable Price for Bridal Henna?

OMG I do bridal mehndi here in UK and the most i have ever charged is £90 thats about $135 and my price includes feet too!! guess i am in the wrong country!!

Re: Reasonable Price for Bridal Henna?

I know girls that spend 300-400 on their bridal mehndi application and some that spend only 100... i guess it all depends on what vendor/artist you go with. is it from a company with an upscale studio or just a girl taht works from her home.. I recommend you ask around about artist that work from their home, and get some eid mehndi done from one of them and if you like it discuss your budget and see if they can work with you. we are desi, haggling is a norm and what we should all be good at :)

Re: Reasonable Price for Bridal Henna?

so where r u in chicago..any fb page of ur work?

Re: Reasonable Price for Bridal Henna?

I've been on vacation for the past 8 days and am just catching up on some of the threads here. I wanted to thank you all for responding to my Q about bridal henna. I'm hoping to have my venue booked by next weekend and will start calling local henna "providers" in the next few weeks. I don't need an "upscale" place......just someone reasonable who will do a good job. And yes, just to stay within "budget", I'm compromising and will skin it on my feet.

Anyway.....Thanks again every! Your tips are greatly appreciated.... :)

Reha: LOL...I may get my henna done at a reasonable price but knowing Chicago....the price of everything else for the shaadi will go up! :)
