ok so I get all kinds of bent when I read a novel and there are slightly misguided sentences like “she lighted the fire” instead of “she lit the fire” but I get SUPER annoyed when I hear statements like
“ok now I will talk to the state of the econony” … or “Lets now talk to the problem at hand.” edit!!! I always picture them talking to ledgers and journals, or to computer systems. SHEESH…you cannot talk TO an INANIMATE object. Yeah so maybe it makes you THINK you sound “cool” but to me personally, it makes you sound like a schizophrenic idiot.
