i wonder what will they do with it.
the king cannot get it back, govt cannot confiscate it, they cannot sell it as it has archeological value now. so i guess they will have to lock it back or put in museum.

I remember long time ago when they found 17 trucks of gold in jaipur fort it was hauled to delhi over night and we never heard back about it.

**Actually even in Pakistan a lot of times there were treasures found in what used to be hindu temples pre partition or even homes when they were renovated...... the secret is not to openly advertise it :D......
There were a lot of Homes that were bought or taken over by Pakistanis that had belonged to hindus pre partition and they found hidden treasures in them when renovating.....I suppose most of these were hidden during the Partition in the hope that they would come back for it and reclaim it once things got better.........but now they have passed down the generations to the grandsons of those who found them and they are still almost a "never-ending" source of wealth .

they have also recovered sacks of gold bits shaped as rice. how hard is it to slip few of them out every day if you are the guy incharge of counting them.

**actually in olden days, people hid their wealth underground because either they didn't trust the banks or the banks were non-existent for common folks. those hidden treasures were top secrets and ONLY the head of the family knew about it. if that guy died suddenly and didn't get the time to reveal the secret location of the treasures to the next head of the family, those treasures remained hidden for years and even centuries. they are found by new owners all the time but in small quantities.
my sister's house in India hid a potful of gold jewelry in her backyard and was found during construction.**
