Real happiness and peace can be found in submitting to the commands of the Creator and the Sustainer of this world. Allah SWT said in the Qur’an:
Truly, in remembering God do hearts find rest. (Qur’an, 13:28)
On the other hand, the one who turns away from the Qur’an will have a life of hardship in this world. Allah SWT Said
**But whoever turns away from the Qur’an, he will have a hard life, and We will raise him up blind on the Day of Judgment. (Qur’an, 20:124). **(i.e. neither believes in the Qur’an nor acts on its oders.)
This may explain why some people commit suicide while they enjoy the material comfort meoney can buy. For example, look at Cat Stevens (now Yusuf Islam), formerly a famous pop singer who used to earn sometimes more than &150,000 a night. After he converted to Islam, he found true happiness and peace, which he had not found in material sucess.

**Translation: **But whosoever turns away from my message, verily for him is a life Narrowed Down, We Shall raise Him blind on the Day of Judgement.
Commentary: The Consequences of the rejecction of God’s guidance are here expressed more individually: a life narrowed down, and a blindness that will presist beyond the life “A life narrowed down” has many implication: (1) It is a life from which all the beneficent influence of God’s wide world are excluded; (2) it is a life for self, not for all; (3) is looking exculusively to the “good things” of this life, it misses the true reality.
