The IMPORTANT NOTICE is what's confusing me, it seems like he/she is asking for $100 just to SEE the apartmetn before we even agree on anything........ is that normal?

I am very very much skeptical about the text of this email.
There are many things that do not seem right...
They are renting their home, why can't they come or send someone or have someone here as their agent to deal with it?
Have you seen the apt. yourself?
Have they seen/meet you? If not, without having met or getting satisfied with who is renting, it seems stupid of them to offer it.
Nigeria rings a bell.... There have been too many late uncles from whom I have received money over the years :D

this was posted on craigs list and i emailed them first asking what are some other requirements htey may need etc… so i dont know if it can be a hoax or not..
an apartment for that price in that neighborhood was too good to be true..

It's a hoax and by the ways such kind of frauds are becoming very common through craiglist. There was a report on CNN about this two months ago.
