When your mind is not at ease, has anyone had the experience of things getting better after they built in regular namaz into their schedule? Did that change your nightmare of a life in anyway?
Re: Reading Namaz and Relaxation
Yes it works. Sometimes we think lot about things, we can't do much about. At that stage, if you surrender to the God, it really helps and give you relief.
Re: Reading Namaz and Relaxation
Yes - I had years and years of no peace or mental/physical relaxation.....I have always been a practicising muslim but unfirtuantely was not regular with namaz
Then my mum said one day when I had yet another screaming and crying fit that I should just pray my namaz and sit there and tell Allah SWT that I leave everything in his most capable hands. I felt like the biggest weight lifted off my shoulders and chest/heart
From then on I try to offer regular namaz alhamdulillah, and whenver I feel stressed etc namaz and talking to Allah SWT after my namaz does wonders.
May Allah give everyone peace and happiness and make it easy for us
Re: Reading Namaz and Relaxation
Yes and yes.
You might remember this blog of mine that I wrote when I was at my lowest not just because of work-related stress but also because of other things at home. From that day on, I never missed a namaz and I made duas regularly, something I hadn’t been very good at for the past couple of years. I didn’t even recite any fancy surahs, simply talked to Allah taala after every namaz with tears pouring down my face. And SubhanAllah it was like everything magically started working out okay at work and at home. At the time of that blog, I was afraid that I wasn’t going to be done with my lab work until March-April but because everything has been going so well, I’ll be all done and dusted this Friday Alhumdulillah. What kept failing for me in the lab last year suddenly started passing with ease. Of course one of the conditions for acceptance of prayers is hard work so I also worked my butt off this past month, working till 8-9 PM every night, not even taking a lunch break during the day. I could hardly bend down by the time I got back home because my back was so stiff due to standing/walking for long hours. That combined with the realization that I couldn’t do it on my own and that I needed Allah’s help at every step is what paved the way for me and that’s my imaan. Now the question is, had everything kept failing, would I have lost my imaan? I don’t think so. It’s not Allah’s fault that the lab managers are too lame to buy a new instrument instead of making researchers cry with frustration. It is my belief k jo hota hai ache k liye hota hai. There have been times when I really really really wanted something but didn’t get it and I was gutted but looking back, things worked out just fine. Itna sabr toh hona chahiye insaan mein. So the bottom line is what Allah swt said in Surah Baqarah - “Remember me and I will remember you.”
Alhumdulillah x a gazillion. I feel indebted to Him forever, it’s not like I’ll forget about namaz now that matlab pura ho gaya hai. May Allah swt give me hidayat to never be a lazy bum again.
Re: Reading Namaz and Relaxation
Yes!
There is no life without religion. If I stop praying, all bad things starts happening with me and I lose my way so I have to must pray. My day begins with the remembrance of God , I pray fajor and sometimes if I get up late , I read some surah before starting my day . And that is how everything goes fine for rest of the day. Praying gives me physically and mentally calm , I feel so blessed that I am Muslim and we have an option to pray else life would have been so difficult for me.
Remember.....Eat,pray and sleep.

Many people don't know what they are praying while offering prayers. It's almost like a mindless routine. I'd strongly suggest if you don't already, really grab a translation and understand what it is you're saying when praying. That's uber important when seeking peace through prayer.
Re: Reading Namaz and Relaxation
Please do not expect a quick return for Ur namaz . If the reward is not as per Ur expectations or within certain time limit would u stop offering namaz ?
Re: Reading Namaz and Relaxation
Yes namaz puts anyone in ease definitely!
Re: Reading Namaz and Relaxation
Yes, I was irregular with my namaz till a few years ago, always guilty but usually not enough to get up and pray. Then one day, I don't know how, it suddenly hit me that I will make a pact with myself that I will make an attempt to pray 5 times, and if I do miss a prayer, I will say qadha, and will not sleep till my 5 prayers for the day are done.
I kept that pact, and since that day, I've been regular. And while I haven't noticed any magical changes, like everything going right in my life, or all my dreams being suddenly fulfilled.... but I do have a peace of mind, I am much more relaxed and I feel MUCH less guilty, even though I'm far from being a perfect muslim. Now, what bothers me is when I miss a prayer, even when my everything seems to be going wrong in life. I know if I don't pray, things might be worse.
