What is one meant to read and in which order? I tried searching online but cannot find anything.

I am not sure if there is any specific order, but I've seen people doing sura-e-Fateha, 4 quls, durood and then Dua

IMHO, there is no fixed methodology, you read from holy Quran, whatever you want to, no matter if its one Qul or whole Surah-e-baqra, and then have dua with durood shareef before and after it.

4 qul and sura fatiha Is for the ppls convenience .. but the point of it is that you get sawaab of even a verse .. to the mayyat/marhoom.
and why 4 qul ..because in hadith e Mubaarika .. The prophet SAW says that by reciting 4 qul you get the reward of reciting the whole quraan. subhaan Allah. and sura fatiha IS not just a sura but a 'Dua' in its self ..
so when one recites 4 qul you recite the whole quraan and automatically make dua by reciting sura fatiha ..and the dua after is additional / optional i wud say but recommended ass you would be reciting durood upon the Prophet SAW and Allah swt says in a hadith e qudsi .. the dua is left 'muallaq'' i e. hanging in the air and it has less chances of being accepted .. but when a durood is recited upon the prophet SAW .. the angels specially take the dua with a gift of Durood to the court of Allah almighty ..and say o Allah .. your servent sends durood upon YOUR beloved .. the Prophet SAW and he / she has made such n such request .. this way it is guranteed that your dua will be accepted if made sincerely.
