Re: Reactions in the media
Mmm they’re pretty upset and we would be too had we been in their position. They want the BCCI to fix the system, put an end to the “circus that IPL is”, take some action against the coach and the “so-called superstars of cricket who have repeatedly failed to perform”. Also, Pakistanis won because “they are desperate” as they have nothing else to play for apart from this series. The Indians on the other hand have a lot of things lined up so the desperation wasn’t there.
In all fairness though, both countries go a little too hard on the players when the team loses. It’s just a sport, enjoy it and move on. Apne ego ka masla banaya hua hai.

Weird and Wacky Indian Media
Re: Reactions in the media
I think the above is today's clip, did they not have the same panel for post-match analysis.
Re: Reactions in the media
This is what I mean by weird & wacky indian media, excessive hype before a game and overreaction after a loss. Pak media is better as far as hyping players is concerned. Their (and the fans’) usual problem is blind belief in conspiracy theories. some pakpassion posters do behave like the indian media though!
The first step to solving a problem in sport is to acknowledge that a problem exists and needs a solution. In all these programs I only see them bashing the batting. The batting line-up is just fine (bench strength is good too - Rahane, Tiwari and Pujara) but perhaps longer than necessary. Dhoni needs to come in at 6, play a genuine all-rounder (Irfan etc.) and 3 proper bowlers. Even in the 2nd T20, Indian bowlers were having huge problems defending a mammoth total of 192. With a bit of luck, Pakistan would have won that game as well
India’s main problem is their bowling and they must play proper bowlers and genuine all-rounders (like Kapil and Irfan) or-else forget about defending their title in Aus/NZ in 2015.. Playing part-timers simply won’t do. You can’t rely on batting to bail you out or to bat opponents out every time. You can’t have part-timers bowling your 4th and 5th quota of 10 overs!! (therein lies the problem). No doubt Pakistan’s pace attack is better than India’s but whatever pressure is created upfront by Bhuvuneshwar and Ishant is quickly released by the likes of Yuvi, Kohli, Sehwag and Raina. I am not convinced that Jadeja (although he took 3 wickets the other day) is a genuine all-rounder. Dinda is not international class either. Both need to go
The above bespectacled rondu anchor is typical. oh bhai thund rakho no need to overreact or go overboard about the loss. It is only a game. There will be another bilateral series soon. Then there is CT, 50-over world cup, T20 world cup etc.
subah ka bouncer is typical over the top criticism

It is the anchor's baseline emotion. That's how he is all the time. They hype players because they have to sell them and everything that goes with Indian cricket. It is how many people make a living. When you can't sell victory, you have to sell tragedy and anger. Indians have always acknowledged that our bowling is lost since the time zaheer, kumble and harbahjan passed their prime. And pakistanis are more prone to conspiracy theories than Indians
Re: Reactions in the media
Emotion is big business. All news and media outlets cash in on emotions all the time. When they win you set them up so, so high. That sets the stage for a high fall and a very loud thud when they actually lose. The bigger the fall, the bigger the thud, the bigger the thud the more emotions you stir. And emotion is great for the bottom line. What these guys are doing is just standard operating procedure- and it's super fun to watch :D
Re: Reactions in the media
When you have 'x' hours of television that is to dedicated to cricket, you have to fill it up with either victory or defeat. Thanks to the r**e outrage, that 'x' is a relatively low number. If that were not the case, you would see more of cricket anger and tragedy.
Re: Reactions in the media
No outrageous video thread is complete without axclip of the great Kambli.
Re: Reactions in the media
Well I was eagerly looking forward to another outrageous and fun-filled edition of subah ka bouncer. Too bad (with India winning the 3rd ODI) we will all be denied this great opportunity now!
Re: Reactions in the media
**As always, we are reading too much into it..
Cricket is a Game and must remain one..
You win some, you lose some.. That's the name of the Game.
Just Selected the best 11 and you're good to go. As simple as that.
G'day**
