I’m not sure in which city, but a Pakistani Muslim family have recently converted to Christianity. As a result, they have been victims of torment, obscenities & vandalism by local muslim ..This families choice of wanting to convert is their own & its for Allah only to decide the course of action for them..even if they are converts, we as muslims should be tolerent & not attempt to play God.

There is a to be argued (and I’m still making up my mind on it, having seen arguments from both sides) case that God’s command is for us to execute those who forsake Islam.
An example includes the hadith narrated tby Abdullah bin Masud who said that the messenger of Allah said :
“The blood of a Muslim may not be legally spilt other than in one of three [instances] : the married person who commits adultery; a life for a life; and one who forsakes his religion and abandons the community.”

Code_red saab, no need to get irrate about it..Its happened in the last couple of weeks some where in the midlands or yorkshire area in the UK( if i get to know more i'll post it)..This was on the radio today with this guy appealing to the muslims to leave him & his family alone & to let them get on with his lives.
Mad scientist, i dont know the authenticity of this hadith, but even if it is authentic, we dont know the context in which it was stated.
lslam forbids any kind of violence.Infact it promotes peace( unless Islam underattack or threatened in any way)..the word Islam means "peace"..I think we should let common sense prevail..Even the local Imams have condemned these attacks.

It's totally their choice. Why are we supposed to execute someone who leaves Islam? Has not Allah spiritually executed him anyway by denying entry into Paradise? Why would Allah want humans to take matters into their own hands on this issue? It just seems so utterly barbaric.

Isn't it nice to see the poeple trying to take the law into their own hands.
Maybe they should take this a step further, and start arresting people for doing other illegal/haram things. I mean, mob justice is always the best kind of justice. Fair and impartial, no emotions involved.

Yeah its sad one of my cousins fell in love with a catholic chick and she wantedhim to convert. He is like 23 yrs old now he was 21 then, didnt know what to do so he converted. His parents still dont talk to him his older brother, who has no clue about Islam (never saw the inside of a mosque, never prayed) wont talk to him. He thinks the whole family disowned him so he is missing in action eversince, he is spotted every now and then.
Oh and guess what yours truly was promptly blamed by my family (ummah) for corrupting him.

Islam condones violence, such as the amputation of the hand of a thief, the execution of a rapist, and arguably the execution of an apostate, when the violence is sanctioned by the relevant legal authority as punishment for a criminal act.

Forget violence, but there is absolutely nothing wrong in stating whether you agree or disagree with their choice. And nothing wrong in telling them if they made a mistake- in a civil manner.

SubhanAllah scientistji, If u really want to dwell into this area, then maybe u need to understand the formula of attaining these punishments when such sins are commited..U will then understand how bad things really have to get b4 Allah commands man to take action.
Lets just turn this thread on its head for a moment. Imagine if a close friend of urs ( non-muslim ) decided to revert to Islam..imagine if he was then tormented endlessly by his community..would u justify their atrosities.

According to Holy quran :
There is no worldly punishment prescribed for a person who changes his religion from Islam to any other religion, and lives peacefully among them. The punishment mentioned in holy quran is eternal life in hellfire, which only Allah can execute.
Although, if such a person indulges in activities against the Islamic state, then he can be dealt/ persecuted according to his crime. This can be carried out by law enforcing agencies only.

What they do not allow in their own theocratic states, they demand as a fundamental right in other democractic, secular states.
They always try to confuse people from reality by quoting Quran. Here we are talking of a copnversion taken place somewhere in West, and the converts are being harrased. What if someone converts from Islam to other religion in an Islamic state?
