Re: PR card [Permanent Resident Card]

salaam dosto
how are you?

do any of you have any idea/experience as to how long it takes to receive the actual PR Card after it has been approved? someone i know got his PR application approved through urgent processing but he is worried if it might take longer than 2 weeks. he has a non-refundable paid airline reservation for travel to India in less than 2 weeks. actually, he is an old man and wants to accompany me.

do you think his PR Card will arrive in mail within the next two weeks? what if he is required to pick it up at a local CIC office?

please share your experience with PR Card if you had one. how long did it take for you to get yours?

regards

Re: PR card [Permanent Resident Card]

Same kind of thing happened with me.
One day i came back from work and found my PR card application returned in mail(reason:missing clear copy of my pakistani passport). My flight to Pakistan was in 3 weeks. I sent the application back with express service and called them next day. They told me if i can fax them copy of my ticket they will get it done in one week. And i received my PR card in mail in 8 days.

Re: PR card [Permanent Resident Card]

thanx for the reply DMD...tum ho aadmii kaam ke! :)

wow! that's encouraging, indeed! :)

do you remember how long it took for you between "DECISION MADE" and actual arrival of the card? did you receive any letter in the mail before the card arrived? were you asked to pick it up at a CIC office?

the old man is literally freaking out because he is scared to travel to India alone. poor man! :)

the guy's application was "Urgently Processed" and now the status of his application says..."DECISION MADE...approved".

Re: PR card [Permanent Resident Card]

I dont remember they sent me any letter…puri applicationhee wapas bhaij dee thee:smack:
and was i freaking?day night freaking
They told me card will be sent in mail never asked me to show up at local office.
I never checked my application status so cant tell you the duration.
Guy should call the office and get updated info.
it happened in 2005.

Re: PR card [Permanent Resident Card]

thanx…yes, it’s indeed stressful.

un bechaaroN ko angrezii nahiiN aatii aur help centre waale applicant ke ilaava kisii aur ko koii info dete hii nahiiN…privacy laws kii vajah se.

let’s hope he gets it in time or else he has to travel alone unfortunately.

Re: PR card [Permanent Resident Card]

They say it will take 2-3 weeks (I received it in 4 weeks) but you can never rely on them. I would strongly suggest to contact the CIC by sending them an email with all the proofs that you have regarding your flight. CIC is very considerate.

Re: PR card [Permanent Resident Card]

thanx for the info. the guy has done it all and it has been approved on 9th of March. he is waiting to receive the actual card in the mail or pick it up at the local CIC office. let's wait and see.
