I’ve dedicated a thread to the President’s Performance almost two months ago. I want that thread to be re-open for discussion. I can’t go back and put all the input again in a separate thread.
People are allowed to discuss President’s negative and positive steps within limit as according to the guidelines of GupShup.
I’m just wondering why is it closed? One Moderator of Pak Affairs told me because there was no discussion. Heck, if there’s no one to debate, should the thread be closed? I asked the same question to him through PM and he didn’t reply me back.
When I closed the thread I sent you a PM, informing you of the reasons. Our forum rules state that all discussion threads must have a clear discussion or exchange of views value. In the first few weeks that was the case with that thread, but I'm afraid in the last six weeks there has been little discussion or exchange of views value. It has gone to 117 replies, and has run it's course. Now, that is not stopping you opening new threads on such topics, and referencing this thread for such a purpose. So please go ahead and start posting new discussion threads, and I'm sure there are others raring to discuss.
Yes, you did. I’m not ignoring that; and I respect your reasons.
I respect that as well.
That’s a good point but not my fault. How can I debate if someone doesn’t want to? I said it eariler, I dedicated that thread to President Musharraf, in which I’ve included both positive and negative attitudes of President’s Govt.
Here, I’ve to disagree with you. Have you look at the thread Iraq and UN Sanctions in World Affair forum?. It has more replies than my thread because of people discussion as well as editorials, included by couple of members. In my thread, it is just me who has included working links in the thread so that other member would know better about the President Musharraf’s Performance from different angles. No one is ready for discussion, which is certainly not my mistake. I’m not stopping anyone for discussion.
My point is, please note that, it would be better to discuss the different issues in one thread by re-opening. You got the key!
Mursalin, I respect your opinion but I know we are two different people with different opinions and views.
Let me summarize it, I can’t do, Sorry! I want the thread just like the one we have for **Iraq and UN Sanctions ** in World Affairs.

That thread is a folder, not a discussion thread. Our forum rules allow the opening of folders to store information that can be referred to in any other discussion thread. It has been used as a reference for many discussion threads in World Affairs. You yourself have seven active folder threads in Pakistan Affairs at the moment. I have explained the reasons your discussion thread was closed. Please open new discussion threads if you want to discus topics in the closed thread.
This SITE and especially the political forums are heading towards self destruction. God of GS are you listening? There are ppl who kept faith in you but seems like this GOD is sold out!
Was this thread a folder? My understanding is that people open folders for information purposes only and not for discussion. While that's ok occasionally, at the end of the day this is a discussion forum and too many folders can get in the way of that.
That's just my opinion though, it's not official policy :)

It wasn't a folder. It was a thread. Mursalin Sahib closed it becaue there wasn't any debate going on. It was just ME, who keep posting articles, editorials about Musharraf.
Is it my fault if people don't wanna debate? I think so!
