i just want to know why on earth have pakistan stopped picking mushi for the national side.
mushi (mushtaq ahmed) argubally one of the best leg spinners the world of test cricket has seen or may be odi’s as well.
He recently spoke to bbc.co.uk and said that he finished the highest wicket taker in pakistan’s domestic season ending in 2002 and when he was snubbed again by the selecters he could only think of one think “WHAT MORE DOES HE HAVE TO DO TO STAKE A PLACE IN THE NATIONAL SIDE AGAIN”
He is one of my favourites and i want him to be picked beause he is a good player but the pakistani side doesn’t pick him why he is at his peak now and he has talent i hate pakistan for wasting the last 2 years of his career to date

You can only have one spinner in the team when playing on fast wickets. You can only afford 2 spinners only in Pakistan, India and to some extant in Sharjah.
India is not playing Pakistan for long now. Pakistan is unable to host anything from almost a year now. Its hard to pic Mushtaq ahead Saqi. Danish Keneria is another bright youngster. You cant make him sit on sideline for long.
No doubt Mushtaq was good but see then Kumble was also good and Bhajii made him sit on the lines. This is how life goes on.
Wasiey there is another thing that dominates Pakistan cricket "power play". Ever heard of ?

but that is perhaps one reason mushi didn't survive towards the end of his days, he wasn't a stalwart or influential enough with the big guns at the board. And of course, his form went wanting too.
He's still a great leggie, but a cricketer's life can only be so long. Neverthless he performs well on the county/first-class circuit in england.
For all their greatness, I always thought backups for Wasim and Waqar (i.e future attack bowlers for pak) should have been invested in earlier. We perhaps relied on them 2-3 years too many.
On the same note, it's better to expose newer talent - Kaneria etc. as much as possible (instead of overplaying oldies) so that the replacements are aware and experienced in internatonal game when the front-line spinners are ready to hang their boots.
the only way to get new players in is to get rid of existing players...n in order for mushi to come back into the team..who are we gona get rid of? Saqi? Shoaib? Wasim? Waqar? Afridi? Inzi? Youhana?
why do i think mushi's international career is over... :)
