intoxicants are haram. therefore, marijuana is haram. simple as that. of course, if you are so weakminded that you feel the need for an intoxicant because you don't want to use your brain, than i can see that similar weakmindedness would also lead one to ignore any sort of rules set down about such things.

anything that alters your judgement, between good and evil - be it as per morals and values considered good and evil today - is not allowed (E.g. - Smoking, music, drinking, sex, etc) - i guess moderation is good - where controls are beyond ones scope
