Eat healthy...plenty of protein, fruits and veggies. Exercise, reduce stress, and get plenty of sleep. Establish the basics. I've recently read about applying onion juice to the scalp. It is stinky...I'm not overly fond of onions myself. But there was some research conducted where there arbout 23 people (men and women) who applied onion juie to regrow hair....and it worked for about 20 of them, I think. Can't remember th results, but they were pretty good. Onions contain a high concentration of sulphur and other important minerals that stimulate hair growth. Onion juice is even used in some commerical hair growth products. The people in the study were advised to apply crude onion juice daily for 2 months and 17 of them noticed hair growth in about four weeks. Of course....not everyone responds to a treatment in the same way.....be it onion juice or something else. What you do is grate an onion....then take the greated onion and squeeze it and the juice will come out easily. Or you can take the grated onion and put it in a chai strainer....and then press on the onion with a spoon....the juice will be filtered through the strainer. Gently massage it on your scalp....and then wash it off an hour later.
^That's one remedy. You can also find some less stinkier oil remedies for hair in the fashion forum. Hair loss in men, I think, is often caused by the production of DHT which destorys your hair follicles. There are certain supplements (such as Saw Palmetto) and even foods that help to inhibit the production of DHT. Maybe talk to your doctor about Saw Palmetto...do some research on it...to see if it'll be applicable to you.
Great info redvelvet. I was looking for an easy to use oil like Amla or other natural oils. Maybe I can try kalonji oil as it is extracted from onion seeds? I also tried castor oil but it is too sticky.
You can try black seed oil, which I believe is made from onion/kalonji seeds and has a special place in Islam...it's beleived to be a cure for many ailments. Fenugreek or methi seeds are also known to stimulate hair growth. You can find them in your local Desi market. You take a bottle and you fill it half-way with methi seeds. Do not grind the seeds. Simply fill the bottle about half way with the seeds. On top of the seeds, you're going to put olive and mustard oil. It doesn't matter which one you put in first....but they both need to be in equal quantities. So, if you put 1/2 cup of olive oil...you need to also put 1/2 cup of mustard oil. The end result will look like a bottle with seeds resting at the bottom and oil floating on top.
Do not shake the bottle....the seeds are not supposed to be mixed with the oil. Let this bottle sit for a day or few. You're basically steeping the oil in the seeds. You're going to apply the oil to your hair....not the seeds. The methi seeds have a warming/stimmulating effect....and they're supposed to lend that effect to the oil....in other words the oil absorbs it from the seeds. That's why you're only going to apply the oil. I applied the oil every other day...and I noticed a difference in a about 2-3 months. It's a rather strong oil and can give you a headache....so don't put it on longer for an hour. You can try gently massaging it every other day....or if it's two strong at first....maybe two days a week. Keep it up regularly for about 3 months....which is how long you should give any treatment. You just wash it out with your shampoo.
Also, look into the Saw Palmetto to see if it would work for you. I've read that it has improved/hairloos for several people...mainly men.
This is something that someone told someone who told someone, it isn't proven or anything but if you're gonna try things you may as well give it a go. Obviously talking to your GP, diet and exercise are the first sensible steps to take.
Desi method: 1 tablespoon of Olive oil, 1 tablespoon of Almond oil, 1 tablespoon of Coconut oil and 1 tablespoon of Castor oil.
Heat it and apply regularly, more than once a week I think, just as many times as you can really, leave on for like 2 hours or a bit more and wash it out.
Also brush your hair in all differet directions every night, apparently it helps.
That is all I know, hope it helps :)
^no you don't need to open up a lab. You get olive oil from your local supermarket...and methi seeds and mustard oil from your local desi market. I'm sure you have a bottle at home. Pouring things in a container isn't rocket science.
If you want something even more simple....then just apply good ole' olive oil or coconut oil to your scalp. Hardly any work required there. The common cause of hairloss in men is usually the production of DHT. So, look into incorporating a way to inhibit its production. There are topical solutions that you can apply to your scalp...but you also have to pay attention to what's going on inside of your body. Anyhow...that's all i have to say on the matter. Best wishes.
Apply castor oil . I lost a lot of hair because of an eating disorder and now my hair are growing back only because of castor oil. Slow process buy it's working.
Im thinking to give it a try for methi seeds and olive and sarson oil but im confused about the bottle! I think i have read somewhere here on gs that it should be dark bottle and kept in the sun for somedays or its not necassary? please help guys:(

My hair are falling fast, if my hair continue to fall at this rate I will be ganja in few years.
Is there any oil (like amla etc.) that is proven to stop male baldness? I have been using olive oil but it hasn't helped much.
I see all types of remedies on TV ads that even claim to re-grow some of the hair, how effective are they?
Any suggestion will be appreciated.
hello, as a matter of fact falling hair is a serious issue not only in males but in females too. Well before going ahead i would like to ask you a simple question. Please tell me that your hairs are falling from all the sides of the head or just from front side. as mostly hair falling has been seen that it only falls from the front not from sides and backside. so do you have same position?
Biotin pills will make your hair stronger + healthier (girls tend to use it to make their hair grow faster as well) but with the possible side-effect of acne (this can be countered by taking zinc as well)..
