- Better to be done with it in terms of geo-strategic reliance.

Today is the time of global alliances. Be they strategic, economic, or whatever. US and EU are the best of the best.
EU offers a combined budget of $6000 billions while US alone offers a budget of $3000 billion.
Now compare this to $450 billion for China, $200 billion for South Korea, and $140 billion for India.
China and India are loaded with people too. So the bottom line is less money and billions of people and the alliance will suck money out of you.
On the other hand Trillions of dollars and million in population of EU and US means there will be net flow of money to Pakistan.
OK in a simpler term, Pakistan cannot make a shirt and sell it to China / India that is cheaper and/or better quality.
But Pakistan can definitely sell a shirt to EU or US which is at least cheaper if not better in quality.
This is how "money flows" around the globe. If you set up shop for US or UK you will make money. If on the other hand you want to sell it to china or India then you will surely go home hungry and penniless.
p.s. Islamic "oh-i-see" countries don't even come close. Their combined budget barely makes it to $450 billion and a collection of poverty stricken masses. Un ki to maan hi mar gai (they have nothing to offer).
