Khair, I did install the script and checked out its features.
This is what the INTALL/Readme.txt file says:
ALL messages (private and public) are LOGGED by default. I did not see ANY option to disable logging. There *maybe *a way to disable by HACKING THE ACTUAL CODE but that also is not easy to find as far as I can tell…
enlighten me

*That is what I tried to say in the other thread, in which Ehsan ji got totally mad. I do not see the point, agar banda ghalt ho aur keh raha ho kay CHATS LOG nahi hote, when the software it selfs ENABLES and SAVES the LOGS, then how can you not have the logs?
So Ehsan ji ko chahiye kay bajaye threads lock karnay kay thanda paani piyaiN, aur aise apnay mods and team ko defend na kia karain har waqt jab alif bay ka nahi pata regarding this issue.
Jaha tak meri forum par na rehne ki baat rahi, to ham typical pakistani mentality hamesha yahi dialogue bolte hain har forum par jab koi aur juwaab naho.

What the software does is not my the point here, the fact is that we do not have logs nor do we recieve them. In theory anything can happen, it is how we enable and run our site is what it matters. ASN you are still wrong as usual. Admins dont recieve any logs so there is no way the mods are recieving them. ASN you need to stop being paranoid about mods and give opinions when you dont even know how the site is run. Little knowledge is dangerous and in your case positively so.
I will let our tech guy come and give you reply and i am sure he knows more than some so called tech experts here.

ASN never said admins receive the logs... what are you talking about? It was *Tofibaba *who said that Admins receive the logs and also those logs are sent to FBI. Where did ASN say that admins receive the logs?
In other thread he was trying to make the point that **BY DEFAULT **THE LOGGING IS ENABLED and as far as I can tell by installing it my self on a website with vbulletin forum integration, I DID NOT SEE ANY OPTION TO DISABLE LOGGIN.
Please read between the lines.
As far as the tech expert, if the logging is disabled, I would like a link to the modification that was used to accomplish that.

Ehsan bhai the discussion was not about if admins recieve the logs or not, it was a simple question if logs are saved.
I just quoted out the fact that LOGS are saved by default, and also the Private Convoz of chat. Ab agar ye baat mai kissi ko tarka laga hai to mera kya kasooR.
Anyhow main bi kidar apna deemagh lara raha hooN, jiski laathi uski bhaiNs.

What is the big deal? Do you guys talk about making bombs, killing people that you are so concerned about these logs sent to FBI?
If you guys are not doing anything wrong in the chatroom then there is no point going nuts over this log thing.
And if admins and mods can read their buraiyan then there is nothing wrong in it I guess…maybe it is a good source of feedback for them

Lusi, if it is being logged, we ought to know about it, people need to know. This is how logging works... this is how call recording works in many states - the other party needs to be notified.
As far as feedback, ye *pakistani *site hai.... edhar chasskay latey hain sub, feedback ko kya karna hai.

So are you saying when you log in you want to see that message that your IP is being recorded?

the file lib/config.php contains all the configuration options.

When ehsan bhai said, you should believe what he said. We are not afraid of admitting if the chat was being logged.

^ yaar maine kaha tha chat has option to save logs, read the other thread. Then jaan leva did the testing and said. Jo maine kaha tha I still stick to it. Obviously every chat software shud have an option to disable the log feature from config.
So what Ehsan bhai said was that log nahi hota, but in real yes LOG option hai and hota hai, ab disable karna, wo to siraf Allah ji janta hai.

logs should be turned on (if they are not)...so people should act in humane and responsible way.
