I have been unpleasantly surprised by a lot of the comments in this thread. The thread is populated with derogatory comments directed at a whole race and as a consequence it has been removed.
This site does not condone racial profiling of any sort.
I too condemn all sorts of racist comments BUT I don't think closing a thread does any good. It is best if such things are discussed. It might help change some of the racist views that exist in our society. Hushing it up only worsens it.
The thread as it stood was littered with tasteless racist comments.
If you are genuine in your motives to 'rehabilitate' then you're welcome to open a new thread discussing these issues with focus on tolerance.
I never saw the thread, but if it was about calling black people "kaley log", I see nothing wrong with it. I've grown up with black people, having lived in Africa all my life and have some pretty good black friends. But blacks are blacks and whites are whites and kala means black and gora means white so I don't see anything derogatory about calling someone kala or gora. I mean they have all sorts of names for us as well.
It was not so much as calling them "black" or "kala" which will cause anyone any problems. You are right, black is black and white is white.
The reason which HKP is hinting at is that a lot of people were condemning a whole race of people just based on the color of their skin and using generalization to project them as unworthy or lesser humans.
That was gross and inappropriate and hence the mods removed the thread.
