I sincerely believe that if he was given a young team meaning minus Afridi, Moyo,YK, Butt, shoaib in 07...Now in 2010, Pak would have been much stronger team.

all Pak captains have been successful when they purged the team of "seniors". look at Inzi... he took over after everyone better than him was gone and captained with relative peace. though even there Akhtar did his level best to create problems.
man, you should have seen Afridi's interviews after the 2007 world cup. every talk show he went on - he had to mention two things. one - he wanted a second wife. two - the captain should be a "senior"... but now that Malik was captain, he'd "support him". yeah right. kiss my arse. we all saw how he supported him.
the thing I don't understand is that when the team sucked under Malik - it was all the fault of Malik's captaincy.. he was too "defensive" (whatever that means). but when the team sucked under Younis or Yousuf, then it was still Malik's fault because he was supposedly underperforming to screw over the captain. kamaal logic hay!

and speaking of being hurt at losing a game... did you watch Afridi's innings in the semifinal? he faced 11 balls and played a shot at every single ball. the runrate was easy. the requirement was to bat 20 overs not played a shot at every ball. and then his comments against his coach Sadiq Mohd? even though Sadiq Mohd said that they sent a message to Afridi that the runrate was under control, so slow down. what did Afridi do? play reckless shots until he got out. and even then Afridi had the gall to say that Karachi lost because the coach had no plan. it was obvious he couldn't care less about how Karachi did in the match because he was angry at not being captain.
he played irresponsibly and deliberately underperformed. that is also matchfixing in my book. and this is what he did in domestic. God knows what kind of badmaashi he does in the national team.

agreed. I've lost count of how many games we lost because he didn't use his brain. in the past, I used to just think okay the guy is obviously very stupid... so whatever...
but his shenanigans in the semifinal have proven what was suspected... he deliberately throws his wicket away when it suits him. he threw it away in the semifinal to prove a point.
