since now Razzaq is out and Azhar will take his place, who will replace Shoaib and Asif if they dont play. Sami will one of them :mad: but who will be the other one… yasir arafat… shahid nazir … or perhabs a batsman

big blow because, it is razzaq who often helps us reach over 100 runs in last 10 overs! big blow no1 in our team can hit like him in death!

Huge blow. A weakened bowling attack only meant we needed so much more out of our explosive batting line-up. This loss can only be corrected if we get Shoaib and Asif back before the World Cup, otherwise I can honestly see us getting humiliated in the Super 8 stage.

Razzaq can be a match winner on his day. i have more faith in his batting than his bowling.. big loss !
I really hope somehow asif makes it back in team

Razzler is much better batsman then Azhar... no doubts about that !

I think now Bari got an other opportunity to do justice, and he can do it by:
1. Adding Azhar as replacement for Razzaq
2. Sami for Akhtar
3. Abdul Rehman for Asif

In Afridi presence as a leg spinner, entertaining batsman and a good fielder, i do see any use of having an other leg spinner with poor economy rate, and lethargic fielding skills. So it will be better to include Abdul Rehman, which will give an accurate off spin along with a good fielder and a utility batsman.

Since Pakistan will have medium pacers in Gul, Rana, Sami, Azhar and Rao; so they could use an offspinner in Rehman along with leg spin of Afridi.

  4. Yousaf (though Inzi wana come at this position)
  5. Inzi
  6. Malik
  7. Afridi
  8. Azhar
  9. Rana
  10. Rehman
  11. Gul

If Afridi is out then replace Afridi by Hafeez and bring in Kaneria for Rehman.

Kaneria should play in 11 - as Rehman is not selected in the 15 man squad.

Razzaq is going to be missed badly. There was a time when we were notoriuos chasers. And we have been chasing big scores successfully since a while now and invariably Razzaq has been the man to see us through. Consider all these high profile chases against India, Australia, New Zealand, Sri Lanka and Razzaq played a major role in them. He knows how to suddenly erupt from 1st gear to 5th and he is calm under pressure.

Azhar isnt bad and a better bowler than Razzaq but Razzaq is one of the best players at the death, day in and day out.

How irresponsible for a player of his calibre to play with one pad in the nets to see a fast ball hitting the un protected leg. how could you do such a thing. i find it very irresponsible .

True as he did agaist Australia and WI in recent past. The smartest brain in present cricket world, who knows the situation and could change gears so quickly :smiley:

if i was pakistan, i would cover all my players with bubble wrap
ask bush if players can get a ride on air force one due to exceptional circumstances,
and baby proof the hotel rooms, and
make all fielders wear elbow and knee pads
