**RAWALPINDI: Security was tightened around the Federal Government Girls High School, R.A. Bazaar, after a threatening letter sent by the outlawed Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) warned that the institution should be closed otherwise it would be blown up.
**
The one-page handwritten letter was found on the premises of the building by the school staff some time between October 10 and 11.
Sources in the police said the letter contained some sayings about the respect and status of women in Islam and then addressed the administration of the school.
**“It is a message from Ameer Sahib Abdul Wali of TTP Mohmand Agency that the girls’ school should be closed. Thank God, we have been successful in every bomb attack and will be successful in future too. And we can carry out bomb attacks anytime…”
**
The sources said after the threatening letter, police presence had been enhanced around the building during school timings.
The chief executive of the cantonment board was also sent a letter to remove vendors and other encroachments around the school building located at Chungi No 22.
All educational institutions in the city remained closed for about a week till October 20 for the Eidul Azha holidays.
When contacted, a senior police officer confirmed that a letter had been found by the F.G. school staff before Eidul Azha.
“Apparently, the letter written by TTP Mohmand Agency was thrown into the school compound and later found by the school staff,” the police sources said.
The police officer, who requested anonymity, was reluctant to give details about the contents of the letter.
He said the station commander and the chief executive of the cantonment board visited the school to inspect the security measures.
When asked about the authenticity of the letter, the police officer said it was yet to be determined.
However under the present situation, the letter could not be taken lightly. Security around the school has been enhanced for the safety of the students, he added.
It may be recalled that on October 20, 2008, three simultaneous bomb threats to three schools in the garrison city forced the evacuation of hundreds of students.
The first call was made to the administration of Faizul Islam High School at Raja Bazaar and the second to the F.G. High School Sarwar Road. However, both the calls turned out to be a hoax.
The third bomb threat call was received by the management of the Punjab College in Commercial Market, Satellite Town.
No explosive device was found on the premises of the school building by the bomb disposal experts.
On October 17, 2008, the Federal Government High School on Abid Majeed Road was evacuated after a caller threatened the school administration that a bomb had been planted in the building.
The police traced the caller who turned out to be a class- 10 student of a school in Lalazar.
A senior police officer associated with intelligence added: “In the past, there had been no such threat to close any educational institution. However, some boy schools had received telephonic threats.”
Meanwhile, the law enforcement agencies have been directed to beef up security around the residences of American nationals, restaurants and hotels being operated by foreign nationals as the TTP have planned to target them, sources in the law enforcement agencies said.
Re: Rawalpindi Girls’ school receives threatening letter from TTP
How come those following ahadith narrated by umm ul momineen hadrat ayesha razi allah can say some thing like this.Either this is hoax or TTP have some sick minded person who know nothing about islam and is mixing tribal culture with islam or the event is misreported ( typical of english/secular news papers when it comes to any thing related to islam).
Re: Rawalpindi Girls’ school receives threatening letter from TTP
Well "we" follow blasphemy law, don't we, when the prophet himself stopped sahabis from killing individuals who not only badmouthed him but also grabbed him by the collar (story of a jew who did that in a masjid)? I am not surprised.
Re: Rawalpindi Girls’ school receives threatening letter from TTP
Then why did he stop a sahabi from beheading a jew who came in a mosque and grabbed him by his collars and pretty much said that are you (Muhammad) good for your word? He was basically talking about the money that he had lend to the prophet and I don't remember that it was just because of the mosque as he could have ordered his killing after wards. Even after the taking of Makkah, only people with serious crimes were murdered as the rest were told that they can take refuge in the house of someone (can't remember their name right now). The people of makkah had sent people after him to kill him so it could be logical if they were killed. Sorry, but I don't believe you until you bring me sources that I can verify as this is the same prophet who didn't accede to jibrael a.s. to kill the people of taif for wounding him with stones.
Re: Rawalpindi Girls’ school receives threatening letter from TTP
*Sahi Bukhari Volume 3, Book 45, Number 687: *Narrated Jabir bin ‘Abdullah:
Allah’s Apostle said, “Who would kill Ka’b bin Al-Ashraf as he has harmed Allah and His Apostle ?” Muhammad bin Maslama (got up and) said, “I will kill him.” So, Muhammad bin Maslama went to Ka’b and said, “I want a loan of one or two Wasqs of food grains.” Ka’b said, “Mortgage your women to me.” Muhammad bin Maslama said, “How can we mortgage our women, and you are the most handsome among the Arabs?” He said, “Then mortgage your sons to me.” Muhammad said, “How can we mortgage our sons, as the people will abuse them for being mortgaged for one or two Wasqs of food grains? It is shameful for us. But we will mortgage our arms to you.” So, Muhammad bin Maslama promised him that he would come to him next time. They (Muhammad bin Maslama and his companions came to him as promised and murdered him. Then they went to the Prophet and told him about it.

#2 Recite Darood shareef when ther is mention of our beloved :saw2:
[TABLE=“class: wikitable”]
According to Ibn Ishaq, Muhammad ordered his followers to kill Ka’b because he “had gone to Mecca after Badr and inveighed against Muhammad. He also composed verses in which he bewailed the victims of Quraysh who had been killed at Badr. Shortly afterwards he returned to Medina and composed amatory verses of an insulting nature about the Muslim women”.[SUP][20]](http://www.paklinks.com/gs/#cite_note-20)[/SUP][SUP][21]](http://www.paklinks.com/gs/#cite_note-online-21)[/SUP]
Kill Abdullah ibn Sa‘ad, because he became and apostate (left Islam) and fled to Mecca. He also claimed that he was the one who wrote the Qur’an and started to mock Muhammad, which made him angry[SUP][116]](http://www.paklinks.com/gs/#cite_note-Sir._William_1861_131-116)[/SUP]
A misunderstanding leads to his pardoning. Abdullah ibn Sa‘ad was brought in front of Muhammad and offered his loyalty, Muhammad upheld his hand to indicate that his followers should kill him, but the Muslims thought he pardoned him.[SUP][116]](http://www.paklinks.com/gs/#cite_note-Sir._William_1861_131-116)[/SUP] He said “Was not there a wise man among you who would stand up to him when he saw that I had withheld my hand from accepting his allegiance, and kill him?”[SUP][117]](http://www.paklinks.com/gs/#cite_note-117)[/SUP]
Re: Rawalpindi Girls’ school receives threatening letter from TTP
Obviously, Taliban would never do that. Its hoax printed by secular news paper to give bad name to Islam and Talibans. Taliban/terrorists apologists will go to any lengths to defend them.
SWABI: Seven-year-old Marwa cried and shook uncontrollably at the sight of the rubble and shattered glass remnants of her classroom. The Taliban had bombed yet another girls’ school in Pakistan.
“I had to pick her up and hold her close to my chest. My worry is that we will spend our time helping the girls deal with fear instead of teaching them math and science,” said head teacher Razia Begum.
“I hope the parents keep sending their children to school.”
Pakistan’s Taliban movement, which is close to al Qaeda, has bombed hundreds of schools since launching a campaign to topple the US-backed government in 2007.
Like Taliban militants in neighboring Afghanistan, the Pakistani Taliban want girls barred from education.
But the Taliban have failed to sell their violent philosophy to the vast majority of Pakistanis, and a campaign to terrify people into supporting militancy has had limited success, as the defiance at Government Girls Primary School No. 3 illustrates.
The students - age 4 to 15 - are undoubtedly scared, and disappointed about the damage to their school in the town of Swabi, 75 km northwest of the capital, Islamabad.
The bombs set off in the red and white brick school complex Sunday were so powerful they stopped wall clocks at the time of impact - nineteen minutes past midnight.
Instead of listening to lectures at their old wooden desks, the girls will be forced to sit on the grass in a courtyard until workers clean the rubble and shattered glass from classrooms pulverized by the bombs.
Still, they are determined to stay in school, hoping to become doctors or lawyers and leave sleepy Swabi for big Pakistani metropolises, or work abroad - dreams that enrage Taliban zealots.
“We are braver than the Taliban,” said Hasina Quraish, 10, who wants to be a college lecturer. “They are brutal people, not good Muslims.”
In their ideal world, women are covered from head to toe, only learn how to cook and clean to take care of their husbands, and rarely venture outside the home.
Pakistani men would all grow beards, and the government would cut off all ties with the West and impose an austere system of Islamic law at home where those deemed immoral would be executed or whipped in public.
The campaign to bomb girls schools gathered pace several years ago in the former tourist destination of Swat Valley, about a three hour drive from Swabi.
The regional faction of the Taliban, led by Maulvi Fazlullah - dubbed FM Mullah for his fiery radio broadcasts - was fighting to impose its version of Islam.
It was able to do so after reaching a widely criticized peace deal with the government in 2009 which US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton called an abdication to the Taliban.
An army offensive in Swat forced Fazlullah to rebase across the border in Afghanistan. Yet he and his fighters have regrouped, started launching cross-border attacks on Pakistani troops, and have vowed to rule Swat again.
Sympathizers with Fazlullah and other Taliban leaders, meanwhile, frequently attack girls schools.
“I WANT TO BE A FIGHTER PILOT”
That doesn’t keep students like Sana Khan, 8, from walking several kilometers to School No. 3.
She is well aware of how ruthless the Taliban can be, often overhearing her parents speak of how the Taliban kidnap and behead people.
“I want to be a doctor and help people. I want to go outside and see the world,” said Sana.
Pakistan needs as many qualified students to enter the work force as possible to help its struggling economy, which is heavily dependent on foreign aid.
“Women have to be educated because they have to be part of the economy too,” said teacher Mohammad Arif. “Pakistan can’t develop if its women do not learn.”
But good learning is hard to come by in Pakistan, which spends less than two percent of its budget on education, while pouring huge sums into the military, which has ruled the South Asian country for more than half of its history.
Even hiring more guards for schools seems to be a challenge.
Israr Khan works a 24-hour shift at the school complex. His repeated calls to local authorities for reinforcements have been ignored.
“The Taliban are powerful and they will keep doing this unless the government does something about it,” he said.
The Taliban campaign stretches far beyond the classroom.
Suicide bombings meant to destabilize the government disrupt the rhythm of life in big cities, as well as dusty places like Swabi, where vegetable sellers on donkey carts compete for road space with motorcycles, and women in veils bargain for better prices in the bazaar.
In the center of town, posters of 25 policemen killed by Taliban bombs and shootouts remind residents of their vulnerability.
Yet, the importance of education seems to override fear.
“These people want to destroy society and the best way of doing that is by destroying education,” said Nur Waheed, holding the hand of his four-year-old granddaughter outside a butcher’s shop.
“She said ‘I don’t want to go to school because I heard a bomb exploded there’. But we will send her to school,” he said.
Sara Ahmed, 9, doesn’t need encouragement. The bubbly girl with a white scarf has high ambitions in Pakistan’s conservative male-dominated society.
“I want to be a fighter pilot,” she said with a wide smile.
Re: Rawalpindi Girls’ school receives threatening letter from TTP
If the Holy Prophet (saw) stops sahaba from harming those who had openly insulted him but orders others be killed, don't you think there might have been additional reasons for killing these others?
On the topic: sounds fishy to me. why would Taliban go all the way to Rawalpindi and target this particular school while there are girl's schools closer to their base of operation. who knows what goes on behind the scenes. there are plenty of criminals (land mafia etc.) who are capable of using the name of Taliban for their nefarious purposes.
That's not to say that the tali-animals don't target girl's schools.
Re: Rawalpindi Girls’ school receives threatening letter from TTP
So, you’d rather follow the Hadith that demonstrate that the Prophet killed people who bad mouthed him… and not follow hadith that say He forgave people how bad mouthed him?

Another question: Do you think TTP is evil?
i was just clearing misconception of a fellow poster.

This was the post that i replied to.
As for me, i think it is not individuals reposnsibility to take revenge , rather should wait for scholars opinion on that. (actualy wait for state, but as state donthave any thing to do with islam these days so wait for opinion of some authentic scholars).
but if some one takes revengefrom likes of salman rushdie then i dont blame him for killing persons like terry jones, rushdie.
I think in wazirstan TTP and Pak army both are evil to some extent, there is no clear haq there, any one involved with killing of civilians is on wrong side according to me.

That would also include Taliban of Afghanistan... right?
Re: Rawalpindi Girls’ school receives threatening letter from TTP
The same Abu Sufyan.’
On request by ‘Abbas, the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace), in the context of the general amnesty he proclaimed, gave Abu Sufyan, who had a liking for bragging, a special privilege, saying: “He who takes refuge in Abu Sufyan’s house is safe; whosoever confines himself to his house, the inmates thereof shall be in safety, and he who enters the Sacred Mosque is safe.”
Re: Rawalpindi Girls’ school receives threatening letter from TTP
Not at all.
i consider taliban in afghanistan as mujahideen on haq.Start a new thread if you want to discuss why i think they are haq. :)
No, sorry, we must differ on the definition of 'haq'. I do not have the energy or motivation to discuss why it is okay to kill Afghan children and not okay to kill Pakistani children.
Re: Rawalpindi Girls’ school receives threatening letter from TTP
This is when he asked for the same with hadrat ibn e abbas and the year of 630 i think.
the post was just to balance the misconception about our prophet:saw2: our prophet was rehmatullilalimeen but when he deemed fit he punished people as per the rulings of islam. in one of the ghazwa he used words like- ana nabi ul mulahim-i am nabi of fierce wars(if that is the correct translation of ghumsan ki jang)- .
Re: Rawalpindi Girls’ school receives threatening letter from TTP

i think it is our duty to learn the ahkam of islam. Once a person knows ahkam then it is easier to find 'haq".
