ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s ambassador to Sri Lanka, Col. (r) Bashir Wali Mohammad has alleged Indian intelligence agency, Research Analysis Wing (RAW) for assassination attempt on him that was carried out weeks ago.
Wali who returned from Sri Lanka a week ago, negated the perception that a separatist group, Liberation Tigers of Tamal Eelam (LTTE) masterminded life attempt on him. He instead blamed the RAW for starting proxy war in third country by carrying out this lethal exercise.
Former spy chief, who had served on diplomatic assignments in different countries before his appointment as the country’s high commissioner to Sri Lanka, said the LTTE not only refused to claim responsibility it also denied reports published in media about its involvement.
Indian foreign mission in Colombo is quite disturbed with fast-growing bilateral relations of Sri Lanka and Pakistan, he told The Post in his first-ever interview to local press. Its agency, RAW, was closely watching the movements of Bashir Wali who has emerged as the most influential head of a foreign mission in Colombo. Wali had narrowly escaped a powerful claymore mine attack on August 14 in Sri Lankan capital but the explosion hit the military vehicle escorting him. Out of seven Sri Lankan Commandos guarding the diplomat, were killed instantly as their white Land Rover Defender took the full force of the blast. Three bystanders were also killed…

Wasn't it you who opened a post asking for proof from Indian Govt. before labeling any charges at Pakistan after the Bombay train blasts. I wonder why ain't you applying the same standard to Pakistani Govt.

pakistan diplomats are either crooks (such as what happened in New York last year) or snakes (like the guy in Sri Lanka). All have connections and lie thru their teeth for mere pennies. No big loss if they're taken out or not.. If RAW is doing this it is probably to train new recruits within Pak embassy

joke of the day, i would say pakistan justice system is the most corrupt system in the entire world. even i used to live there and my relatives usedd to work for govt, believe me, patriotism is one way, but the truth is that pakistan's legal system is very corrupt

i am fed up yaar, india says that everything is done by isi, which is, 80% true but 20% false, and pak says everything is done by RAW, which is 20% true and 80% false, the truth is that the embasadoor was atacked by tamil tigers, not raw, but, oh well, politicians will always remain politicians

Well I cant understand that when neither the Sri-Lankan government, nor the Sri-Lankan media have implicated RAW in the bomb-blasts, then how did the Pakistani envoy to Sri-Lanka say that it was RAW’s work ?
In fact, the Sri-Lankan President Mr. Rajapakse praised the Indian cricket team which decided to stay on to play the tri-series after South Africa decided to cancel the tour. (The blast took place close to the hotel in which the Indian and S.African teams were staying). **

I think its some kind of confusion. Probably when the Pak envoy was asked in the hospital how he wanted his dinner, he said RAW !! And some jokers just assumed it was RAW behind the plot to kill him :)
