I’ve a really adverse reaction to watching gore on TV - both sexual and violent.
I literally avoid shows like GOT/House of Cards/The Tudors - basically anything cable.
I’m mocked for this by my peers. Any one else being mocked?
I just don’t have the stomach to watch and desensitize myself towards heads being decapitated.
Or ruin my private like by watching pornographic images of what a healthy sexual life should be like.
Wondering if there are others out there like me.

i can understand where you're coming from but there is a lot of good stuff out there that you are missing out on. and the whole world knows the difference between hollywood and asli sex life.

Its not just that; not that I need to know the difference. Its that I find it really really stupid to be showing these things. Particularly when its not vital to the storyline. For example; GOT there are literally topless women just walking around in the background.
Or decapitating heads; OMGGGGGGG thats a human life your portraying. A LIVING PERSON and you mean to tell me that its totally okay for someone to do that real or not UNACCEPTABLE.

well for the sex and what not, they use it for views, i can see it used for story but that's rare. and gore is another story.
watching breaking bad. i don't think it even has this stuff except eik do dafa

Ignore the mocking. It all depends on your level of comfort - what you can easily block out to what extent. We watch tv shows and movies for entertainment and a good time pass. If it ends up making us feel uncomfortable and leaves us feeling disgusted, it kinda defeats the purpose.

I'm so hooked up to showtime show Californication which is full of adult stuff but trust me it explains so much about relationship stuff in a much effective manner than any "careful" show would hv. So in the end it all depends upon you as how you perceive it
House of cards really isn't that bad. There are only maybe 1 or 2 scenes per season that you need to fast forward.
Never watched tudors so can't comment.
Game of thrones is the worst. I couldn't watch it for the same reason.
Also stopped watching Greys anatomy because too much sleeping around within the same group was happening and it was getting more and more explicit.
Same here. I can’t stand nudity in movies. To me, if you want to ruin a great movie, put a nude scene or vulgarity in it.

Gore doesn't bother me...I'm a huge fan of the American Horror Story franchise. Never got into GoT or House of Cards so I can't comment on those, but yea, excessive or gratuitous nudity doesn't appeal to me either. I think the only time I have been truly disturbed and pissed off at the violence (both physical and sexual) portrayed on a TV show was the first episode of the POS show "Tyrant" on FX. Never watched it after the first episode...it truly disgusted me.

didn't knew that greys anatomy was that bad. someone I know keeps telling me to watch that crap but good think I haven't.

Wow so many of us feel that same way; Good to know I am not the only one :k: like a story line with good substance, knowing about the characters and what has made of them today? HOC and homeland does make me want to FF some scenes; Really don’t care for watching ‘janwaroun wala sex’ …I can digest zombies crap in moderation but not sexual content :nono:

Lost and Prison Break were okayish...(Prisn Break had some violent scenes).
I miss the good old times of Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman and Steven Spielberg's Amazing Stories.

Nudity and excessive violence would be rated R, not PG...I am ok with PG stuff, but some R stuff is disgusting.

I was equally disgusted too from that scene as it was right in the begining.. but guess wut, rest of the show was much better.. much cleaner and dramatic

Orange is the new black is an amazing show but they really do not need to put the dirty bits in at all. They are beyond irrelevant!
However, i love gore - the non sexual kind that is. I say the more the merrier.
