So has anybody actually had an experience with the raspberry leaf tea? I have heard such mixed reviews about it..some say it brings on labour and triggers contractions, my midwife says it just strengthens the uterus and prepares it for the second stage of labour and kind of makes pushing easier.
Am confused on whether to take it or not. Hit 37 weeks today AH. But I dont want the little one to come before my mum comes here, that would just be tooo panicky for me
**Also **for the first time, how many of you had your baby’s head engaged by 37 weeks? Mine is low down but hasn’t engaged as yet. What does that signify..is it going to be a later arrival?
I drank raspberry leaf tea.... I am sure it didn't bring on my labor. Rest of the stuff it is supposed to do I can't really say if it did for me or not. I don't know if not drinking would have affected my labor.
With any of these natural labor inducers it might work for one and not work for others and so on.
o hai i didnt know you were gonna have a baby. now that we won the science quiz, would you consider naming the baby after an element? think about it k.
i wouldn't drink anything weird if i were you. it is all confusing enough as it is, and your body already does stuff to strengthen the uterine muscles (braxton-hicks yet?). i dont see how tea can target strengthen anything, but that's just my opinion.
first babies usually stay in longer, i hear. just enjoy your final weeks of peace and quiet before it all starts.
i drank it somewhere b/w 35 n 37 weeks... i had contractions n gallstone attack within 5 mins of drinking it.. i ended up in L&d n theu had to give me medication to stop contractions... i wont recommend it.
Yay for Raspberry leaf tea but take it only if you want to bring on labor and not before! I went into labor hours after I drank it.I was 39 weeks and wanted to bring on labor. Don't remember about the head being engaged.
^I know ... my midwife said just start drinking it when you hit term..not before. But she didnt say it triggers contractions.
Btw G how are you feeling now? Hope cuppycake is doing well too :)
i had actually called the midwife n asked her... she said it was okay since it shouldnt trigger labor, its for strengthening the uterus.. i would have never taken it for labor because i wanted cuppycake to come when ready since i had prayed so much to just make it to fullterm! i was very upset but the midwife still kept saying that it wasnt the tea but my complicated pregnancy that caused contractions. i didnt believe her!
Dont take it! I took on my EDD and it gave me HORRIBLE contractions but didnt really help progress my labor. I was in pain for 4 days but wasnt admitted for L&D because my contractions were not regular!:(
