Haha- nahi aaisa toh kuch nahi hai…its just fun dancing and singing with all your friends and family members. my mama’s and elders of the family become babies during that time and we play musical chairs - ironically my nana/ nani win the game and its not even like we let them win on purpose.

Dholkis are fun if i get to sing. I only know a few shadi songs and none of them i know the whole thing but i still love to sing. I had a blast on Corrupt Angel's mehendi, singing to my heart's content.

Ok what is the poitn of a mayyoun? From what I’ve known and seen, same rasams are done, except hte bride isnt dressed up in the mayyoun and is on the mehndi

Mayoun is for the ghar wale to do all the rasams to the bride or groom (depending on the side they are on) – traditionally the other side isn’t invited. It’s more informal, traditionally as well. The mehndi is where the other side comes to do the rasams.

we had dholkis before the engagement, ours are crap because we don't know any songs and no one knows how to play the dholki properly... boys side have huge fun dholki, but no bride allowed...
