Rashid ready to face Australia in third Test

Reuters - 16 October 2002

Pakistan wicketkeeper Rashid Latif has been passed fit to play in the third Test against Australia, starting in Sharjah on Saturday.

The former Pakistan captain was unable to keep wicket in the humiliating
second Test, which Australia won inside two days - bowling Pakistan out for totals of 59 and 53 - because of a muscle spasm in his back.

Rashid, who went for an MRI scan on Tuesday in Sharjah, said: "The scan showed no major problems, and the problems which surfaced will be treated with ultra sound, massage and icing.

“I have started training and will play the third Test as wicketkeeper and
batsman.”

Rashid managed to bat in the fateful second Test, although he was virtually immobile and made just three runs in two innings.

Personally I was hoping for Moin to return, but oh well, never mind.

That's a shame, I'd have liked to see Moin back.

well whats shame in it?
well i doubt Moin iwll be back in near future ....
Khair lets hope whatever happens , its good for Pakistan Cricket Team

Moin should be back, he's a fighter and a born winner. Rashid is also good but Moin's a world champ.

What happened to Humayan Farhat?
his batting was kinda good...

but his keeping was worse then Moin even!!

^ oh...
but... is he playing domestic?
how about training him?

Happy for Rashid but I wanted to see Moin comeback, I agree he is a bigger matchwinner than Rashid, I think both should be played on tour of Zimbabwe, Moin should be exclusively played as a batsman.

Rashid won't give a single chance to Moin now even if hez dying...
