To all the married guppans what were the traditional or even non-traditional rasams or rasmein that ladkay walay observed on your Walima reception or even after bringing the ‘dulhan’ home
Mummy (my MIL) gave me a gold set and hubby and I shared badamoun wala doodh from the same glass
Our rasam was rushed thru because the limo guy was waiting outside and hubby was in a hurry to change and get to the airport to leave for our honeymoon…grrr
Re: Rasams from ladkay walay
Well in our Family when bride enters we put Cotton her feed she holds door of the house n enter when Bil give him money then both bride n groom read holy quran then comes milk n methai then Family gives gifts to bride n lastly a babyis made to sit in bride's lap , in morning girl's side bring breakfast n later on valima distant Family n Friends give gifts n money to bride n groom
Re: Rasams from ladkay walay
Cotton like just by itself and the dulhan walkes over it? and BIL as in Jaith or nand's husband gives money?
I have heard of the baby sitting in the lap too :)
Re: Rasams from ladkay walay
on the rukhsati, his family came with us to the hotel, they did this one rasam where the next oldest bhabi puts surma in the groom's eyes, and he gives her $.
on my valima, there was the rasam where the devar "sits" on the bride's lap and demands money..... in my case, he didn't literally sit, but all of his siblings + friends sat on the stage at our feet for that.
I can't remember others :-(
