Yes, the law is twisted. Hudd (extreme punishment i.e. death) is only to be enforced if it can be proved beyond doubt.

i think it’s somalia but a woman who claims to have been raped can also end up being punished, for supposedly taking part? and again,** i think it’s jordon, not sure but rape charges can be dropped if the rapist marries the victim.** quite ironic for all the talk about honouring women in islam.

I think this applies in quite a few Muslim societies..

That Turkish drama Fatmagulun Sucu Ne had a storyline based on something similar..

The Offence of Zina (Enforcement Of Hudood) Ordinance, 1979.

and it says that in order to prove zina atleast 4 male witness give evidence that they have eye witnessed the penetration. Now this law provide rules to prove/confirm a zina and not a rape. In reality even if someone has had zina (consented intercourse) why would they do it in presence of 4 males.

Under Zina bil Jabr*, ***it states that it is also applied to rape.
