Re: Rape and Abortion
Indeed, well said. But then the pressure from the society still eats you alive. Anyways, good response.

Re: Rape and Abortion
I’d definately recommend abortion before 40 days without a second thought, would think carefully about recommending abortion between 40 and 120 days, and would absolutely be against abortion after 120 days and would call her a murderer if she aborted after 120 days.
Re: Rape and Abortion
It's religious grounds. There's no religious evidence a foetus has a soul before 40 days after conception, so there's nothing at all wrong with aborting before then, it's like breaking a flower off a plant.
There's a minority view in Islam that after after 40 days, a foetus has a sould, so there's a chance that after 40 days an abortion could be murder.
The majority view is that after 120 days, the foetus definately has a soul. An abortion after that, unless needed to save the life of the mother, is clear bloody murder most foul.
Re: Rape and Abortion
Abortion. Reasons being:
It would remind me of what happened to me,
My future partner would never accept it as his child,
I would never want to give birth to a baby without being married, it would defame my whole generation and that's unfair because realistically they still have to live in this society and facing the pakistani society with an issue like this isn't easy.
I am too young to handle it.
Re: Rape and Abortion
I agree with Maddie.
Hell I would take two of those morning pills to make sure it works. I don't care if I hemorrhage my guts out in the process.
Re: Rape and Abortion
Maddy's answers seems more logical in Islamic sense.
The only thing I also would like to clear myself is that if abortion of such a child is valid even at later stage?
The subsequent questions needed to be asked in this regard may be:
What is the Islamic Ruling for a person born out of wed-lock?
What is the status of such a person in Islamic Society?
etc.
Maddy, do you have any knowledge in this regard that may benefit us as well?
Re: Rape and Abortion
A person born out of wedlock is no less or no more than any other person.
If the mother is Muslim, and she chooses to raise the child as a muslim, then they are muslim. Period. Same rights as everyone else.
There is no such thing as a "*******-child, so he/she is less than everyone else".
The child has no sin on them. It wasn't the kid's fault that the biological father is a nutcase.
Re: Rape and Abortion
Nothing specific. I read about this a long long time ago, but in short the person is just as sinless at birth as the next muslim, since the sin lies entirely with his parents (in case of consensual sex out of wedlock) or father (in case of rape).
Re: Rape and Abortion
A.B.O.R.T.I.O.N.
A woman can not be forced to concieve. Period. 40 or 120 days, if Allah swt wishes to send the soul to earth, I am sure he will find a way through some other means.
Re: Rape and Abortion
Yea I would have probably gone for an abortion because
It would bring me back those dreadful memories
I m sure I wouldn’t have been ready to raise a child
Don’t want to ruin the child’s life
]4) etc.
Re: Rape and Abortion
morning after pill and if that doesnt work-- abortion
NO WAY would i bring that child into the world under ANY circumstances
i know its not the child's fault but i dont think i could be a good parent if everytime i looked at it reminded me of (probably) the worst event in my life
