Rao Iftikhar?????

here we are …he has played two games…people who have seen him tell me about him is he anyway near the reputation that he heard about him, any potential, how is the action and speed like…etc

his action is kinda weird... arms and legs go all over the place... he doesnt generate much pace either, he usually bowls around 80mph, everyone said he was a great swinger of the ball but i never saw anything special... maybe due to the conditions... his stock ball is the out swinger... i dont know it think he might be a little too hyped.... i never saw anything special

^Yeah a lot of people seem to be saying that.
It's quite a dissapointment since there was so much hype about him last year. Before the India series people were saying he would be our Glenn McGrath, this and that.
Supposedly he was decent speed, perfect line and legnth and a great outswinger.
Oh well, maybe in time we will se more from him.

Nothing special. Too much hype as always. With an action like that, I don't expect thing ground breaking.

well, i finally saw pakistan-zim highlights today and also saw rio afthikhar bowling. Frankly speaking, i did not see any thing terribly wrong with his action as suggested by some of the guppies. On the other hand, i think he can generate a lot of pace with this action on fast pitches. His action is quite similar to Sri Lanka new fast bowler Malinga. But malinga has more pace which makes makes him more dangerous.

Overall, i found Rio Ifthikhar a good discovery which needs more tuning. Yes, he did not make a sensational start like waqar younis or wasim akram but he is not as bad as portayed at this forum. He should be taken to australia. he will be able to generate much more pace on australian pitches. and yes he can bowl out swingers really well which would be helpful on Aus pitches.

Rao Iftikhar is pretty average. Nothing special. Once Umar Gul & Shabbir are fit , he should no place in the team. Shabbir & Gul are now much refined and the best choice. Rao Iftikhar should 'nt be included in future tours.

Is his out swin more like cut or more like swing (like Aaqib Javed)....how about the pace lower or mid 130's?
