^^I think he is US citizen, how he can not be arrested without the approval of US government? He is not criminal hence no red warrant can be issued. CJP is wasting his time. Daily N$ aor us ki phoolan devi CJP ki ma behan ek kar rahay han. I am surprised that he is so coward or for Punjabis he has different attitude. Nihal Hashmi bhi muhajir tha us ko andhar kar dya.
Agencies are backing Rao Anwar… Aftab Mehsud, an active member of Islamabad sit-in organizer shot dead in DI Khan.
My reliable source informed me that agencies are now finishing active member of Pakhtoon Tahafuz Movement… group formed during Islamabad sit-in against encounter of Naqeeb Mehsud and unjust treatment of tribal people by check posts in tribal areas.
DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Aftab Mehsud, a young man who played an active role in the sit-in held recently in Islamabad to protest against the killing of Naqeebullah Mehsud, was found shot dead under mysterious circumstances in a suburban area of the city on Saturday.
According to an official of the city’s Saddar police station, Attaullah, the bullet-riddled body of Aftab was found at an under-construction house in the city’s Naqeshbund Town.
Sources said that a piece of paper was found with the body on which names of the victim and his father and his telephone number were written.
Aftab’s father, Khair Badshah Mehsud, told the police that his son had left his home on Friday night. He said he received a call on Saturday and was informed about the body of his son.
A student of Gomal University in Dera Ismail Khan, Aftab hailed from Makeen area of South Waziristan Agency. He moved to Karachi where he became friends with Naqeebullah Mehsud.
The sources said that after the killing of Naqeebullah in a fake encounter with a police party led by suspended SSP Rao Anwar in Karachi, Aftab played an active role in the 10-day Islamabad sit-in which was organised by Pakhtun Tahaffuz Movement and some rights groups.
Apart from the arrest of Naqeebullah’s killers, the sit-in participants also demanded recovery of missing persons from the Federally Adminis*tered Tribal Areas. They also protested against alleged mistreatment with tribal people at security check-posts.
After assurances by some government functionaries for the acceptance of some of their demands, the protesters ended the sit-in.
The police have registered a case against unidentified people for the murder of Aftab.
A friend of Naqeeb Mehsud, a Waziristan-native killed in a fake police encounter, was murdered in Karachi’s Gulshan-e-Buner locality on March 24, reports Geo News.
According to the Landhi police, Maniyal Mehsud was murdered over a personal enmity. The authorities claimed that fellow tribesmen of the man had killed him over a money dispute. However, a brother of the deceased, Zainullah Mehsud denied the alleged enmity and said the police were trying to paint the murder as a robbery. “We want the police to probe into the matter and find the people responsible for my brother’s death.”
Earlier, on February 24, another friend of Naqeeb was shot dead in Dera Ismail Khan. Police had termed Aftab Mehsud’s killing an outcome of personal enmity as well. Aftab had played a key role in the Islamabad sit-in against Naqeeb’s killing.
Naqeeb, a 27-year-old native of Waziristan, was among four men who were accused of being terrorists and killed on the orders of District Malir SSP Rao Anwar in what was later termed a fake encounter.
Following claims of innocence by Naqeeb’s family, an inquiry committee was formed that cleared the 27-year-old of any wrongdoing. An FIR was registered against Anwar and others in the case. Since then, Anwar had been in hiding and only recently appeared before the Supreme Court in the Naqeeb Mehsud murder case.
He was subsequently arrested from outside the top court following his appearance and moved to Karachi on March 21. Later, an anti-terrorism court approved a 30-day physical remand of Anwar.
