It is said that more than thousand security personals involved in operations against MQM in the 90’s were later target killed by the same party. Keeping this in mind, covered faces make a lot of sense.

But still its job and jurisdiction of police. Rangers are para military and they dont have policing duties. Police can ask rangers to join them if they feel the need of fire power but rangers cannot raid a establishment.
Unless rangers have special rights to arrest people and presenting them to court, file charges and do investigation i think its illegal.
In India is unthinkable that CRPF or BSF raiding inside the country
Rangers and Frontier Corps are more like RCMP than US border patrol. RCMP still provides policing services to smaller western canadian provinces to this day.
In this case, sindh govt has requested their assistance and in fact, it might be an extension from earlier in the nineties.
As ar as CRPF, weren't they along with BSF deployed for policing in kashmir or is kashmir a different issue that isn't indian?

Kashmir is very well Indian so keep dreaming about that. Regarding your rest of the post CRPF ,BSF, RR, Crocodiles of Wuller etc got special rights to keep things in control not only in Kashmir but frew other places as well. But not possible for them to go hiding their faces in in mega cities like delhi, mumbai, kolkata or chennai.

Off topic but another of my questions. This is for more practical reasons.
We all know that MQM indeed has tons of weapons (even if not that many as shown in pics) with its members for two reasons, first is for Extortion and second is for the use against "Other Major and Territorial" ethnicity.
So now MQM has severely been weakened and its top ranks and weapons are captured, will it become vulnerable against its foe? After all Rangers didnt raid the other party and capture their weapons too. Are we going to see lot more bori band stuff of MQM workers?
Rangers will have to keep an eye on the situation for a while here.

I think that stash of weapons would only be a tiny fraction of what they have. They've been at it for more than 3 decades now.

I would think that two different countries might also mean two different set of rules and practices, right? In case you hadn’t followed proper news, Rangers had obtained permission to launch this operation from SC, and look like it wasn’t just a normal ‘police raid’ after all, maybe it was indeed a paramilitary operation considering how many high profile and most wanted target killers had been arrested. Besides, Rangers are conducting raids and operation in Karachi for almost an year now. So why all that talk about legality now? I guess it is indeed getting quite hard to defend MQM the terrorist organisation.
Rangers can raid any terrorist/criminal establishment and hideouts. They did a raid on 90, the following day, they did a raid in Liyari which killed 3 gang members.

MQM had killed many of its own party members, including nephew of Amir Khan. All together they had target killed 120 people. They received information from their Central Committee to burn down Baldia Town Factory.
So where are all those parhey likey jahils who used to call this scumbag of a terrorist party the only face of liberalism and true structural democracy in Pakistan? These MQM terrorists have killed just as many people as Taliban, they’re just as bad as Taliban. The only reason why they were so seemingly against Taliban was because Taliban posed direct competition to their blood and death business.
