Re: Rangers operation in Karachi
Noon can get away with making alliance with prominent Sindhi waderas to counter PPP, but if PTI does the same, they will be cursed and stoned to death. Heck, how easy it would be for PTI to get seemingly willing Zulfiqar Mirza on board and at least secure Badin, but they can’t do this. PTI is judged according to totally different set of standards.
But PTI is developing some serious vote bank in South Punjab. They can also penetrate into Pashtun belt of Balochisan naturally from KPK, and if the decision of FATA’s merger with KPK is made before the next elections, and then PTI will also naturally branch out there. So all in all, on paper PTI is quite set to be the only mainstream party of Pashtun belt stretching from FATA to parts of Balochistan. Now it all depends how they play their cards.
But one thing is crystal clear - they have absolutely no real chance neither in Karachi nor in Sindh. So it’s about time PTI stop exaggerating its chances there and accept the reality, and invest their resources somewhere else.
