Ramzan-ul-Mubarak

Re: Ramzan-ul-Mubarak

@Tahurra @LP

Sorry I cannot recall how many units of prayer they were reading. Maybe it were 20 rakats (In addition to Isha) but very toooo fast. Like, I havent read a prayer that fast, found it hard to keep up.

And that is such a good news. I think I know about 20 last surahs and first page of surah Baqarah+Aital Kursi (But is it allowed to read Aital Kursi during a prayer or should it be read after the prayer?). So that means I can do the tarawih prayers myself at home as long as Im reading 20 rakats, right? Earlier I always thought that tarawih namaz means finish reading the entire Quran during Ramzan

Re: Ramzan-ul-Mubarak

I am not a scholar, but these are nafals that you do after Isha prayers in Ramadhan. You can always do it at home but there is more ajar for doing with Jamat and then in Mosque. Every nafal gets an ajar of farz (as its 70 times). You can read ayat ul krusi in your salat as it's an ayat of quran ( I think Its 3rd para).

Try to read ayat ul kursi after farz prayers, it is highly recommeded.

and it doesnt have to have 20 rakats, we have 2 mosques close by. Sunnis do 20 rakats and the other mosque (salfi school) do 8 rakats.

Re: Ramzan-ul-Mubarak

Assalam u alaikum sister,

ayat ul kursi is actually an ayat of Quran, so i was telling you if you have memorized it, we should recite it in prayer, but i recite two next ayat after ayat ul kursi for making three ayat in one rakkah. Rest, in taraweeh in my knowledge you have to recite Quran as in others prayers. Yes you should at least complete Quran in Ramadan but recite it other than taraweeh prayers and i hope inhsaAllah you do it, its not necessary to compelete in Taraweeh.

Sadly, my brother complains the same thing, i dont know about how fast they pray, but yes they recite Quran very fast where he performs. Anyways may Allah guide us, reciting Quran in prayers must be understandable. So other can enjoy recitation and feel khushu in namaz.

Allah knows best

Just perform it in home inshaAllah, you will be rewarded.

may Allah increase us in good ameen
i would advice you to ask others as well so that you will have much knowledge as inshaAllah

jazakumAllah khair

Re: Ramzan-ul-Mubarak

chotay mamoo

Thanks for all the info. Especially the one about 8 rakat tarawih. I think it will be easier to be consistent with 8 especially when reading alone. I pray only farz namaz usually anyway. And so it is not farz :D I was upset for nothing.

Walaikum Assalam sister,

Im so glad to know that aital kursi can be recited in prayer so now one more addition to the surahs I can read in namaz :D

Yes I'll check but what you say makes sense.

And yeah, seriously, they were sooo fast some days that I was like... "Am I praying.... or exercising".... And some days it did not feel like 'prayer' so at the end of the prayer, did not feel good, light, relaxed like you do after prayer.

Re: Ramzan-ul-Mubarak

Its not chotay mamu :smack:

Re: Ramzan-ul-Mubarak

^^ Oh.... ok sorry, chotay moo (small mouth?!)

Thanks for sharing StrongeOne.

I bumped into this one few days ago:

Meri Ummat Ko Gham Aenge To Wo Mera Gham Yad Karen Ge - Very Very Emotional Bayan - Islamic Gathering

10 minutes onwards is the best part of the video. Nicely explains the current state of muslims.

Re: Ramzan-ul-Mubarak

Taraweeh with jamat started only in Hazrat Umar ( RA) time. You don’t have to finish the Quran in it. In fact for women it’s preferable for them to pray at home. Scholars differ about the minimum number of tarWeh prayers but I think most are ok with minimum 8.

Re: Ramzan-ul-Mubarak

what Sady is a female?

shouldnt it be SadAAN ?

Re: Ramzan-ul-Mubarak

Is the sawab going to equivalent to men going to masjid and completing the quran? I mean I would feel short changed if that isn’t the case.

Re: Ramzan-ul-Mubarak

Ayatul Kursi is fine to recite on its own for a rakat. Although it is a single ayat, it is a long enough one to be recited by itself after Fatiha. To complete the Qur’an in Taraweeh is a sunnah and to perform Taraweeh salat in Ramadan is a separate sunnah.

Re: Ramzan-ul-Mubarak

Thanks for the info eastern11 I didnt know that the sunnah is to read tarawih at home.

What is a SadAAN? Is that some form of NAAN ( http://nation.com.pk/print_images/large/2013-06-30/naan-rate-doubles-in-peshawar-1372540448-3588.jpg ) ? Wese speaking of NAANs, What I did one day… put loads of butter on VERY hot and freshly baked NAAN (one with sesame seeds). Mesmerized by the aroma of it… on my last bite did I realise it was over… Such a yummy snack… Tried it again but if the naan is not fresh and burning hot right out of the tanoor then it does not release the same aroma.

Thanks for the info… Obvious

Re: Ramzan-ul-Mubarak

Women
Check out this link. According to some scholars the sawab is the same if women pary at home for taraweh even if they are not a hafizeh.

No, Sady, it is sunnah. The Taraweeh Prayer is an emphasised Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah( peace be upon him ) during the month of Ramadan.

Both al-Bukhaari (1129) and Muslim (761) narrated from ‘Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) prayed one night in the mosque, and the people followed him in prayer. Then he prayed the next night, and many people came. Then they gathered on the third or fourth night, and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) did not come out to them. The next morning he said: “I saw what you did, and nothing kept me from coming out to you except the fact that I feared that it would be made obligatory for you.” And that was in Ramadan

These hadith show that praying Taraweeh in congregation is prescribed in the Sunnah of the Prophet (peace be upon him). Umar during his Khilafah restablished this Sunnah of prayer in congregation.

Re: Ramzan-ul-Mubarak

hayee hayee kia yaad dela deya :frowning:

That fresh steaming naan with hot tea is bf/lunch/dinner from heavens …now since you have mentioned, I have to eat naan on this weekend

Re: Ramzan-ul-Mubarak

Is it really? What I know is , it is a tarteeb started much much later than sahaba help people finish quran at lease once during ramadan. Did not know it was sunnah. Maybe you can share some references regarding this.

Re: Ramzan-ul-Mubarak

Wow, thanks eastern11, all of that is sure new information for me. It was just by chance that I responded to an old thread by funguy and it was split into a new thread and now, all of a sudden, I find myself with a completely new view about tarawih namaz. It seems much more easier and Im very much expecting to read it next Ramzan with 8 units daily, InshAllah. Haha, this is all from God.

Yeah, haha, those simple pleasures. That is the fun living in Pakistan. Im not sure the same stuff can easily be found abroad. We did not… but only a few dedicated places and of just acceptable quality, not so nice like here in Pakistan. That’s why I love the roadside stalls selling a variety of freshly cooked goodies such as those tiny samosas, namak paaras, jalebi, fresh yogurt (divinely yummy!), baqarkhaanis (the ones baked in tanoor, not bakeries) and alot more which Im forgetting right now. It is those simple things which is why I like Pakistan. Otherwise, there’s too much superficiality.

Re: Ramzan-ul-Mubarak

JAK, you are so sweet, where did you live before? Just moved back to Pakistan?

Re: Ramzan-ul-Mubarak

Gee… thanks eastern11. No it’s been a few years now. When I was not living in Pakistan, my love for Pakistan was so strong that brought me to this website. Now that I’m home, I thought of this website and the other posters so rejoined but it’s not the same as posting when away from Pakistan. And a lot has changed… On this website and in real life.
