The only thing that I’ve seen my family do for sure is to have something chat-patta at iftar. My dad feels an iftar isn’t an iftar if there isn’t any fruit chaat/dahi bhallay/channa chaat etc available. Oh and the paratha](http://www.paklinks.com/gs/usertag.php?do=list&action=hash&hash=paratha) size increases by 25% in ramzan, which the kids have to finish, even if they don’t want to :vivo:
Fruit chaat is awesome as is channa chaat :)The way i see it no such thing as having too big a paratha especially if it’s stuffed paratha.
Actually forget paratha ..roti+nutella is something im intrigued by.
Nutella roti sandwich with banana
My Ammi used to always play Surah Rehman with the Urdu tarjuma while we had sehri. It always gave me such a sense of calm and serenity. To this day this verse always reminds me of Ramadan.
We give iftaar and dinner to 2-3 people every day. Needy/poor people without family, who live in the vicinity. And we send iftaaris to our neighbours every weekend.
roti + nutella sounds horrible. roti + crepes/french toast/pancakes/cakes sounds ok. basically anything with maida in it, not chakki ka aata
which one’s your favorite? I really really like aloo ka pakora and palak. yum!
that sounds lovely. do you do that in your household as well?
that’s amazing. so much ajr you guys must be reaping every year
:hinna:
do you also do the over the deeward-plate-of-iftari? when in pakistan the aunty next door used to do that. obviously i carried it in. it was always such a tiny plate too like lady you know we have 4 people in ourh ouse…would it give you to give 1 more pakora
do you know the meanings of the surah? is that why it gives you the goose bumps?
my parents tried the whole playing the Quran in the car instead of music. Sadly (?) shaitaan had gotten such a good hold on us siblings that we TOTALLY rebelled against it constantly. then again, my parents were trying to emulate the community we were living in. those people didn’t even have a TV!
Yep. Same here. Cant do it in the car. I have naats and hamds from the old PTV days that I play in the car. I need something that I can do as well. So I play and read (right word?) naats in the car.
Oh man those naats with the weird echo thing they did along with it? i think i memorized a couple of the naats from PTV because they just repeated them constantly, especially in ramzan.
do you remember that learn quran show that PTV used to play at around 4 or 5 pm. let me see if i can youtube it.
edit: OMG the flashbacks!!! repeating “AZOBILLAH” slowly and loudly behind the kids. omg!
