Ramzan Resolutions

ASAK guppies :~)

Have any Ramzan Resolutions you’d care to share? :~)

Not kidding, but one of mine is ‘cutting down on GS’…

other ones like always are different things relating to different aspects of life like family and friends, school and society etc…

what about all of you? :~)

Can anyone post a good diet chart for Ramazan? I might give u duas and actually fast 3 or 4 rozas this time.

Another concern is the bad breath.... how do u control that? It could get a little embarrasing in office environment...

Also, a roza without namaz and sehri...how good is that?

ciao

a mouthwash will do, just don't swallow it and for those who say its wrong to put mouthwash in your mouth...how about wudu, do you not put water in your mouth and taste it then spit it out. Mini mouthwashes are available at a shoppers drug mart near you.

Also, a roza without namaz and sehri...how good is that?
a roza without namaaz is nullified, both obligations must coincide. A sehri is recommended and sunnah as far as I know. It also delays the bad breath because the stomach is full.

Why don't you just brush your teeth brother?? or use mouth wash?

Sa'hoor is only recommended, not obligatory, and Allah knows best. Here is a fatawa concerning your question.

Question: We need to know the ruling about the fast of one who does not pray (obligatory prayers)?

Response: One who does not pray, (then) his fast is not correct and it is not acceptable from him. This is because the one who does not pray is a kaafir and apostate (murtad), as Allaah (subhaanahu wa ta'aala) says: {But if they repent, offer prayers perfectly and give zakaah, then they are your brethren in religion} [Soorah at-Towbah, Aayah 11]. And also the statement of the Prophet (sal-Allaahu alayhe wa sallam): ((The agreement which is between us and them is the salaah, so he who leaves it has disbelieved)), and also His (sal-Allaahualayhe wa sallam) saying: ((Between the man and shirk and kufr is leaving the salaah)). And certainly this is the statement of the general Companions, if it is not a concensus amongst them. 'Abdullaah Ibn Shaqeeq (rahimahullaah) who was amongst the prominent Taabi'oon said: ((The Companions of the Prophet (sal-Allaahu `alayhe wa sallam) did not see the leaving off of any actions to be kufr except the prayer)). And based upon this, if a person was to fast whilst he did not pray, then his fast is rejected and unacceptable and there is no benefit for him in front of Allaah on the Day of Judgement. And we say to him: Pray then fast, as for fasting and not praying then your fast is rejected because (any) act of worship is not acceptable from a kaafir.

Boss, against bad breath, during the daily tooth brush session, also brush the surface of your tongue.. thats helps :)

And a roza without sehri is ok, If you can endure that.. But don't make it a habbit.. But without namaaz is like a 'Faaqa'

Yupp.. samt thing like every other year.. *sigh..
well sometimes I succeed in finishing a quran and sometimes not entirely..

Pray 5 times a day,
Finish the Quran,
Do away with various bad habits,
Let my beard grow.

Inshallah :)

Can we keep a roza without sehri ?

I mean I just can get up so early in the morning ................. can we just have the niyat before going to bed that I am gonna keep a roza tomorrow ......... without getting up at sehri ........... can we ? ................ :)

so u miss fajr then  u can keep ur fast without sehri that choice is upto you but in order for a fast to be as a whole prayers do go hand in hand.

Oh and I don't mean to be a stick in the mud but all you guys made such great resolutions which is all fine n dandy but ermmm would it hurt to do it year around?

I dunno like read a page a day from the Quran which takes less than five minutes.
10 minutes for namaaz out of our precious time.

Do away with bad habits year around umm a beard would be nice 365 but thats personal choice or so i understand.

What I've noticed these resolutions last 29-30 days and poof its all gone till the next year comes around.

Just a pick me upper, not picking on anyone :)

Ok for my resolution for this Ramadan is to attend Qayam ul Lail as much as I can instead of sleeping in.

interesting thoughts peeplan :k:

keep em coming

Walaikum us salam,

Apart from religious duties...i am planning to assist my mom with cooking ..like whenever i am around i can cook something coz she'll be working extended hours during ramadhan season..

Also, i am planning to spend more time with my little brother in teaching/motivating him about the holy month..and i am also thinking of planning some activities with him for the kiddo cousins..

and many more :)
