yesterday’s iftar : 2piaz pakore,3aalo pakorey 1roll, half bowl of channa chaat half glass of juice,4-5 slices of watermelons and 1 aalo kabab

Sehri day 5: parath with bhindi qeema n tea. It was hectic as we were shifting home n everything messed up.
sehri day 5: friend invited. She is hyedrabadi Indian Iftar was:

dahi baras

in ddinner chicken salan and lamb pulao

Iftaar yesterday; date, watermelon cubes, cholay, nihari with a quarter naan and some romaine lettuce :slight_smile: (best iftaar so far, mA)

last 2 days I ate left over fruit chaat for sehri..

iftari, 3-4 dates, rooh afza, a few pokarian, channa daal chicken salan and a roti, a pakistani mango, piece of brownie..

Sehri today- one sunny side up with a slice of bread again!
Hubby’s sehri- one lacha paratha made by your’s truly with a glass of milk

Sehri tonight with be samosas and roll (baked for me, fried for hubby), shami kabob, and achar chicken.
Rooh afzah and jelly for hubby also :slight_smile:

Sajji :

Buy a whole chicken with skin, carefully separate the skin like a cover without detaching it completely, prick thoroughly with a fork in the meaty part. I stab with a knife in some places too. Mix 1.5tsp salt+1tsp black pepper+2 tbsp lemon juice+1tbsp gg paste in a bowl and rub this onto the chicken nicely. rub,rub,rub for 304 minutes;under the skin and over it too. Cover with a cling film and refrigerate overnight. I buy 3-4 whole chickens and marinate and freeze ; thaw and bake when needed.

Preheat the oven at 180 celcius for 15 minutes. Meanwhile, you’d need any used tin of a size/diameter on which you can make the chicken stand when the tin is inserted in the hollow part of the chicken.Place the tin with the chicken sitting vertically on it in a baking dish. take 1/4 cup vinegar, pour on the chicken, cover tightly with an aluminium foil and bake for 2 hours in the gas oven.

After two hours,remove the foil and cook under broiler for 10 minutes to give colour on the top part

Mix 1 tsp chaat masala+1/2tsp zeera powder+1/4tsp garam masala powder. Sprinkle this with freshly squeezed lime juice before serving.

*** If you dont find a tin, cover the chicken with more aluminium foil on the base so when pressed, it stands vertical. This is most important to make it yum,soft and juicy yet tender. I have tried baking it laying in the dish instead of an upright position and it turns out dry in this case !
