Re: Ramadhan & Fasting - Information / Q&A / Hadith / Verses from Holy Qur’an
In The Name of Almighty Allah, The Most Gracious, The Most Merciful.
**
“Ramadhan is the (month) in which was sent down the Qur’an, as a guide to mankind, also clear (Signs) for guidance and judgment (Between right and wrong). So every one of you who is present (at his home) during that month should spend it in fasting, but if any one is ill, or on a journey, the prescribed period (Should be made up) by days later. Allah intends every facility for you; He does not want to put to difficulties. (He wants you) to complete the prescribed period, and to glorify Him in that He has guided you; and perchance ye shall be grateful.”

Holy Qur’an Chapter 2 Verse 185
Re: Ramadhan & Fasting - Information / Q&A / Hadith / Verses from Holy Qur’an
**A Brief Summary Of The Rule Of Fasting (1/2):
**All praise is due to Almighty Allah, the Lord of the worlds and may the Peace and blessings of Almighty Allah be upon his noblest Prophet and Messenger Muhammad and upon all his family members and righteous companions .
The month of Ramadhan is the month of worship and seeking nearness to Almighty Allah. Almighty Allah has made this month unique from all the other months of the year by making worship in this month to be better than worhsip in any other month of the year.
This is the month in which Almighty Allah has prescribed the obligation of fasting and sent down the Holy Qur’an (Revelation) as guidance for people (Mankind) and clear proofs of the guidance and the criterion.
The fasting person must be on guard against any act that may cause him to lose the benefits of his fast. Fasting is not just refraining from eating and drinking but it is also refraining from everything else that Almighty Allah has forbidden.
The reality of fasting is a secret between an individual Muslim and his/her creator and no one can know who is really fasting except Almighty Allah.

**A Brief Summary Of The Rule Of Fasting (2/2):
**The Virtues of the Month of Ramadan
The devils are chained.
The gates to paradise are opened and the gates to hell-fire are locked.
The Angels seek Almighty Allah’s forgiveness for the fasting person until he/she breaks their fast.
The (bad) breath of the one who is fasting is better in the sight of Almighty Allah on the day of resurrection than the smell of musk.
There is a night during this month which is better than a thousand months. (The night of Power or Qadr).
Almighty Allah forgives many peoples during this month who were condemned to hell-fire due to their previous grave sins and this act of forgiveness is repeated during each night of Ramadan.
Re: Ramadhan & Fasting - Information / Q&A / Hadith / Verses from Holy Qur’an
If fasting is not possible due to illness or pregnancy etc are there any other ways in which the person can make this Ramadan a satisfying and fulfilling one inshallah? Any tips or advice?
Re: Ramadhan & Fasting - Information / Q&A / Hadith / Verses from Holy Qur’an
Peace Thronewood9,
Certainly there are many ways to do more ‘good deeds’ such as:
(i) sending Iftari at local Masjid for others,
(ii) invite others to do iftari at home,
(iii) Distributing water (iftari) at road side to those who are somehow late to reach home,
(iv) Giving Charity etc., beside that
(v) Reading Holy Qur’an
(vi) Reading extra Nafli Salaath
(vii) Doing Dhikar
(viii) Qiyam-ul-Lail (reading Nafli Salaath at midnight), etc., etc.,
and as mentioned in Chapter 2 Verse 185, made-up of missing fasts must be completed in upcoming days (starting right after the 1st day of Eid-ul-Fitr in any day/month).
btw r u asking about where a person is unable to fast even after the month?
Re: Ramadhan & Fasting - Information / Q&A / Hadith / Verses from Holy Qur’an
Important Rulings Regarding Fasting That The Fasting Person Should Know:
Whoever breaks his/her fast in Ramadan for a valid reason has to make up the missed days. It is preferred that he/she makes up the missed days immediately after Ramadan and on consecutive days.
To eat or drink due to forgetfulness, "Abu Hurairah reported that the Prophet Muhammad said: “Whoever forgets he/she is fasting and eats or drinks is to complete his fasting as it is Almighty Allah who fed him/her and gave him/her something to eat/drink”. [This hadith related by the group].
It is permissible for a fasting person to be in state of being sexually defiled (Janaba) in the morning. (At the time of Fajr): all he/she has to do is to perform Ghusl (complete ritual bathing) and his/her fasting is valid. Aisha reported that the Prophet Muhammad would sometime get up in the morning while in the state of Janaba (sexually defiled) at the time of Fajr and He PBUH would perform Ghusl and fast.
It is permissible to use all kinds of perfume while fasting except bukhoor (incense) for it is better to avoid it.
It is permitted for the fasting person to pour water over one’s self and submerse one’s self in water to cool one’s body etc.
It is permissible for the fasting person to apply kohl or eye drops or anything also to the eyes as the eyes are not a passageway to the stomach.
If one is overcome and vomits unintentionally he/she does not have to make up the day later on or person the acts of expiation.
It is permitted for the pregnant and nursing woman if they fear for their child to break their fast and make up the missed days later after Ramadan if they can do so.
Any action in The Night of Power (Qadr) e.g., reciting the Holy Qur’an, making remembrance of Almighty Allah, etc., is better than acting for one thousand months which do not contain the night of power (Qadr).
Zakat-ul-Fitr: This is obligatory type of charity that must be paid by every Muslim young and old, male and female, free and slave at the end of the month of Fasting (Ramadan).

Re: Ramadhan & Fasting - Information / Q&A / Hadith / Verses from Holy Qur’an
Jazakhallah khair I will keep those in mind. Alhumdulillah I’m pregnant so I won’t be fasting this Ramadan and I won’t be able to fast after Ramadan straight away either as inshallah I am planning to breastfeed but I still want to take the opportunity of observing Ramadan to my best possible ability inshallah. I’ll probably be able to keep my fasts in December or January. Inshallah. Thank you for the tips and advice. May Allah make this Ramadan the best one for us and may He grant us hidayah and forgiveness and countless blessings in this beautiful month. Ameen
