Is there anything special you guys do with the kids during Ramadan or for Eid?
Or anything around the house like decorations, calendars etc? My daughter will be 5 this summer inshallah and I want her to do some fun stuff with her this Ramadan and Eid.
On eid we always have presents for everyone, young and old. The house is decorated with lights n decorations. Don't do much for Ramadan as kids are too young, we just make loads of food at iftari but they are usually asleep.

We take them to Taraweeh everynight
We take them to community Iftar & Sehri during weekends
We used to create a good-deed/bad-deed chart (kids have outgrown it now so we dont do it anymore)
If we cant make it to mosque, we try to do jamat at home
When kids were little, we used to do pretend-namaz behind them where they used to do tilawat of whatever surah/ayat
oh and involve them in preparing Iftari, its fun when whole family is involve in making iftari and sehri :)
We will make eid cards for our friends and family. Besides that we will make an effort to read at least one Islamic story book everyday. We will inshahallah decorate the living room. We planing to visit the mosque more frequently. Inshahallah
we are decorating the house for Ramadan iA so we dont waste too much time putting on decorations fo eid while fasting. I will just switch the banner from Ramadan to Eid.. banners are ready to hung, again, to save time!
I have small activity bags ready to dispense when kiddo is bored and I need some Quran time iA.. I plan to take him to y for swim so he doesnt miss out too much on being outside... we did the Ramadan Activity calendaR last year and I plan to hang that back up.. recycling everything that we did last year.. I remember posting the list somewhere on GS so it should be around.
I plan to take kids to masjid iftar on weekends and may be even stay for taraweeh if they are upto it.. we have a designated basement for mothers with kids so he can hang out while I pray iA.
oh and last but not least Ramadan basket is ready for the first day of Ramada.. it has new Ramadan story book, islamic coloring book, crayons, stickers, a bumble bee rescue bot, and some other dollar store item. may our kids grow up to love Ramadan and make the best out of it. Ameen May Allah give me patience to deal with kids while I am fasting long hours and turn into a monster when hungry!!
